  1. I grew up watching Bob Ryan in DC. He was terrific but he always spoke to the audience like 100 percent of them hated snow lol.
  2. Not mention va beach again. They may have 200 % of climo after this
  3. A couple example for dc/ Baltimore would be feb 78 and the second storm in feb 2010.
  4. Do not ever, I mean ever, try to walk on ice in boat shoes.
  5. Maybe a tenth of zrain on trees probably 1/2 of sleet and I really haven’t done an accurate measure and hard to do now since I didn’t measure last night. I’m going with 6 inches though (Frederick county va. not Owings mills)
  6. Glad i traveled for this one. 6 inches or snow, pouring sleet and 18 degrees. Fredrick co Va.
  7. Eyeballing 2-2.5 inches but it’s still just 15 degrees—I’m about 8 miles sw of Winchester for this one.
  8. If the ice pans out and doesn’t melt before the wind hits that could get ugly really fast
  9. He just did a Facebook update and said he may have to dramatically reduce his totals in his final call map tomorrow morning.
  10. I’m thinking of coming to Frederick Co Va for this one if it still the bulls eye on Saturday and if it looks it will be a dud here in Owings Mills. My mom’s place is in a good location. Close to 1100 ft about 8 miles sw of Winchester.
  11. My friend in capon bridge posted a pic online. Nearly 4 inches there.
  12. Maryland traffic cams show it’s snowing in Emittsburg. Roads look clear
  13. I hear you. I’ve been in Owings mills since 2018. Columbia and Dc area have had big snowfalls in that time. The most here was 5-6 inches and that took a three to four day span last year lol. Places North, south, east and west have all had bigger single storm totals in that time. Ever storm has practically underachieved.
  14. Maybe in the northeast like NYC or Bos certainly not here
  15. Pretty rare for owing mills to get 1 inch and Baltimore nearly 7.
  16. I lived in Winchester then. You’re right it’s was nothing beyond that one weekend really; however, I would never say it was a bad winter when you get an all time blizzard even if it’s the only event. But as you say, subjective.
  17. Graupel or sleet in Owings Mills now
  18. @psuhoffman do you have any snow cover left? We have a small patch here behind the deck but it will be gone this week I imagine
  19. I was 12 during the blizzard of 93 (superstorm triple phaser). Lived in Frederick county Va with some elevation so it was a terrific event there and my favorite storm of all time. Dad and I took a “Jeb walk” in the height of the storm with raging winds and heavy snow. At the time there was 12 inches plus and we ended up with around 20-22 inches. Capon Bridge and Gore had even more snow 30 inches plus due to less sleet. Dec ‘92 capon bridge had another 2 feet from that monster nor Easter
  20. 39°24′39″ N 76°49′19″ if you have an iPhone you just use the compass app that comes installed
  21. had a half hour or so of freezing rain after a coupe inch of snow. now trying To change back to snow
  22. 795 starting to get covered. Secondary roads are covered in Owings mills. Traffic cams north of thurmont show heavy snow not sleet
  23. I know it’s cold, high of 28 or so here, but full late feb sun and basically zero melting. Had it been two inches of snow and not sleet it would be mostly gone.
