  1. radio silence. Son at LSD and Grace huddled down in his bathroom.
  2. my fears of June 30,2012 redux are beginning to subside.
  3. mostly cloudy and chilly 60's. Been that way since Thursday. Now raining. Dummy me looked at the forecast that called for a chance of an early morning shower and set up my yard for an afternoon barbecue. Should've known better. 358 AM CDT SUN JUN 12 2022 TODAY PARTLY CLOUDY. A 40 PERCENT CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EARLY IN THE MORNING 1021 AM CDT SUN JUN 12 2022 REST OF TODAY PARTLY SUNNY. SCATTERED SHOWERS LATE IN THE MORNING. HIGHS IN THE MID 70S.
  4. Time for a spin. THE FORMATION AND ULTIMATE LOCATION OF ANY POTENTIAL SIGNIFICANT MCS/DERECHO IS OFTEN NOT FULLY EVIDENT UNTIL NEARLY 12 HOURS OUT.
  5. a MCS on the front end of a heatwave is one of my favorite summertime events. Losing power due to aforementioned MCS at the start of a heatwave my least favorite.
  6. the fact you love it is coming through.
  7. i mulch at 9 am. i troll at 5am.
  8. too bright now. can't shovel. hurts my eyes.
  9. yup. brightening up quickly. Sometimes forget it's only 5 am.
  10. Another tough sky cover forecast for LOT. Forecasted Sunny skies opening up with stratus and fog. Par for the course in this early summer. I think they could save themselves a lot of headaches if they just went with a standard: Today: Variably Cloudy with a chance of showers. I need the rays today as I was looking to build on my summer tan remulching the yard. Planned it for today based on the forecast.
  11. New Orleans is a dump. I don't need its weather.
  12. 30 days from now everything will be dead. Right?
  13. This was a bit of a miss. Posted 3:15 PM Friday: SATURDAY PARTLY SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE MID 70S. EAST WINDS 10 TO 15 MPH. more like cloudy with with spits of showers and temps in 60's. If I had outdoor plans I'd be a bit perturbed.
  14. Garden going to enjoy the next week.
  15. we caught a break this year on 12/31. I believe year before pattern was null until mid January...and of course thereafter....took off.
  16. ^ nah. right on cue. lock it in until january 15th.
  17. I'm always amazed at summer time's convection/sky cover to pull the pants down on local forecast offices repeatedly. And people think forecasting in Sarasota is simple.
  18. Spinning upper lows in late May no fun for anyone. Somewhere, someone was under this thing for 3 days and it's been an early April redux..Joplin?
  19. This upper low system has sort of been a forecast nightmare for LOT. Wednesday and Thursday "numerous showers/storms" have pretty much been relegated to a 1 hours window of scattered showers yesterday afternoon. Even temps. projected in the 60's far over performed. Unfortunaetly, now the worst day of the stretch is Friday, which was supposed to be decent. Now Cloudy, windy and low 60's. See if they can the last 18 hours of it pegged. just enjoyed one of the nicer evenings on the patio .
  20. Sirens wailing, sun shining through the broken clouds, showers, and kids wandering home from school wondering what's going on. And a rainbow. Cluster.
  21. you are correct. On another note, just cut the grass in the dry window and despite the dampness it still feels mild and muggy. Sure sign we've turned a corner when after a rain, and cloudy day it still has a summer feel. Haven't felt warm and muggy on a cloudy day since a day or two before Christmas.
