  1. Great winter storm Snow falling straight down by Rangeley Lake 12” lakeside through the day Saddleback on a powder day is highly recommended, trail edges that were untouched knee deep Still snowing:) 9” in Newport Center
  2. That was impressive last night. Blinding snow, 5” in 2 hours on Burke. Tipped over standing at one point, thought I was still going warp speed[emoji23] Down to 10F now, still sideways snow. What a week to remember! Heading Rangeley to check conditions this weekend. Should be decent. Go Cats! .
  3. Heavy on the butter up this way Even had 3” at the house. 21F at sunrise was a fine way to start NNE Spring .
  4. Elevation for the win indeed. Above 2K the surf is fine, dramatic switch to gradually freezing slop below. Felt like skiing Burke this morning, alone on each run:) Ski season survives another resuscitation .

  7. NNE, “Ski it while you can” 21F this morning, missed the sound of the earth gurgling this morning walking the dog .
  8. Not much to look at down, but looking up continues to pay off .
  9. Two choice type of ski day Edges or hip pads. cold wind but warm sun, pretty nice day to be out. Took a walk up ranch brook. Pretty nice place to have down there PF. Not sure I can live anywhere else. .

  11. Somehow the Mt picked up a few inches of dense snow last night. Dog and I were shocked to walk in blowing snow this morning. Skiing was better, 6” would fix all that, so fingers crossed. Starting to appreciate the longer sunlight now .
  12. Saw a few trucks with full sap tanks today, guess the first run in February is a thing now 50F in town when the sun popped out today. Buddy in Morgan had a thunderstorm. Be nice to get back to winterish .

  18. Snowblower was happy about the cold snow:) 5” at the house, 9F, never went above 15F yesterday. Hero powder skiing this morning, saw the sun waiting for patrol to finish their morning laps Curious what the hills pull out of the sky tonight .
  19. Back to the regular Jan program apparently Mountain absorbed the past week well, somehow skiing is the best of the season Did not expect that. Looks like a good week of winter ahead .
  20. Maybe 5”? Whatever it is, it is soaking wet and 34F Didn’t even bother the snowblower, round 4 of push shoveling cement for the season When this freezes it will be a bomber base .
  21. Woke up to 4”. 2” through the day, still snowing Pleasantly surprised Mountain did well. Stayed cold. We left Hanover last night it was 29F, driveway was 11F. NNE, small but big, many different worlds .
  22. Quite the morning, 5F in the shade to start. Happy Winter and safe holiday to everyone .

Woke up to 5”, another 3” through the daylight hours, still blowing around, 1” since I finished getting the mailbox reattached to the post 3rd Monday in a row of cleaning the blueberry bushes, the white birch are may need a break Wasn’t planning on skiing the steepest, rockiest trails at J today, but it happened, and it was delightful. Lower mountain water bars were the biggest hazard .
  24. First 0F this morning. Hands didn’t come out of the pockets for awhile this morning .
