    Jan 87 was famous for the double-whammy snowfall of about 12"+ 9" within a few days. Plus it was quite cold. I remember the Northeast Blizzard of Dec 1969. . About 20-30" in NY/PA, but the usual shaft job for home. (My family traveled from Syracuse NY to MoCo right in the teeth of it) Not too conclusive I guess.

    Gusty, rainy dog walk. We all agreed to shorten it. 53f, probably about 1.3 " in the normal gauge. Davis says 1.70, but it's been having a tough month. Don't believe it.

    Looks like 0.89 will be my total. (Normal funnel gauge) Like others, my pollen-choked Davis electric gauge was noticeably less.

    Following saga of the cherry trees, here it looks like they've finally blossomed. Still a few days away from full bloom I'd say, but I don't think I'll get a chance to photograph before Easter, so here you go.

    I know it's supposed to be an early spring, but the street cherry trees in my end of the neighborhood are finally thinking about budding. Over the hill, there's a different hybrid used and those trees are now in full blossom. The ones on our end still seemed to think it was January until Sunday (3/27). I'm sorry I don't know the name of the hybrid for either tree. Photo is one in my front yard.

    low 22 Skim ice has returned over about half the tidal South River. Bit weird for Spring, but OK fine.

    Very dry air rolling in. DP fell to 3 after sunrise. Low of 27 here (close to tidewater.) Currently 30/5.

    Tidal South River this morning out to an unusually low tide. Mud flat style. 32 f , clear, windy otherwise.
