Ballston Lake area. It's a hamlet a few miles S/SW of Saratoga Springs and about 20-25 miles N/NW of Albany. From the Amsterdam area, probably about 20 miles east as the crow flies.
Ah nice area. I'd take those 20mi for this

Yeah, hammers ALB pretty good, but quick cutoff N and W of there. That's the solution I'd be used to from the late 00's through the mid-10's where the Catskills through the Berks get hammered with the secondary band while we deal with fairy dust to the NW.
Where exactly are you again? I forget. Definitely rather be closer to Albany for this but it is what it is.

Reminds me of 12/26/10 storm with that cut off, hated that storm. Albany on s+e got a foot plus while we sniffed cirrus.
Well, I was on the coast for that. In my top 5 all time. But yeah, super sharp cutoff. Pray for a west trend, hope for a broadening of shield.

This is most likely going to happen. We're going to see two bands with two max areas and subsidence screw zones in between.
I mean that's a relative term in this system

Euro did move east of 0z a bit with the track, but the precip shield extended further nw this run.
As you'd think so. But maybe being so wound up is keeping the shield relatively tight? See Canadian.

SE Mass and Delmarva absolutely blasted. Ugh.

Huh.
While it definitely is east of 0z early on it seemed less amped. Not the trend I needed IMBY but Queens run looking good.

Euro is less amped. That's a wrap here and maybe for a Queens trip too. Need west and need it now lol.

Biggest Euro run of our lives (until 1am tonight)
Hold Serve?
Go East?
Go West? If it comes in at 955mb on benchmark with a capture media will really start to honk
One of the times where it would be warranted. I'm jealous of this set up for yous.

Same. Daughter moved to Boston in the fall. Might be a perfect weekend for a visit/chase. Always wanted to experience a nor’easter bomb along the coast.
You've never? Go, go now.

@tim123 if you have a weenie map from our neighbors to the north, please share. GFS going east makes me think this may be the last of the snowporn.

If you look at upper air comparison it looks way better than last night. Would imagine ensembles go west some
Definitely big improvements, not at the surface quite yet.

Like the west lean look to it. More potential to come west.
GEFS also with a heavy west lean. Bodes well.
