  1. For some reason I thought last year wad better early on but reviewing my journal it was not. Other than the 15" storm middle of Dec, we poured on the 23rd and went back to grass by NYE. Things didn't improve until Jan 18th or so and we had a decent stretch for 2-3 wks to then have big warmup in Feb. March was decent. Somehow despite the slow start and mediocre rest of season we still managed 98". I've said it before, I'd gladly take the mean of 73" on the season if we just had avg temps and good retention Sent from my SM-G981U1 using Tapatalk

  14. Double edge sword. Snow would be nice to get the base down and build from there, but that's going to make it harder to fix the trails. No snow next 7-10days is somewhat of a blessing since the atvs can get in there easier. I donated some money and want to help some clubs but we're out of town tomorrow till Thurs. The hotspots like rangeley, Eustis, jackman and points north that didn't get much damage will be crowded for sure when we get snow Sent from my SM-G981U1 using Tapatalk

  16. Some sled trails I ride not far away are in big trouble and I'm sure more messages like this will be forthcoming. Not gonna be a preety sled season in many spots and business is going to take a beating. Here’s the cold hard truth from the SSSC. We do not know what this season will bring. We are a small club located in two very small towns with limited funding opportunities. We have around 100 miles of trails. We have exhausted our yearly funding repairing the bridges and trails from this springs flooding. Only to have it washed away again. We appreciate the outpouring of support from our riders offering to help, it has been refreshing to see. The reality is this isn’t going to be a volunteer issue. It requires money to hire the contractors and heavy equipment it takes to build bridges and fix roads. Our grooming equipment requires heavy duty bridges and culverts. With the freeze up coming and snow soon to follow we do not believe we will be able to repair all, or possibly even any of our trails without a significant financial boost. It’s not the news anyone wants to hear but we want to be transparent.
