  1. he must be young. I used to be more accepting of the HHH and not use the car A/C, and just roll the windows down cruising down the road. Like I was saving a bunch of fuel not using it. When you get older, it's more comfortable to just cool off whether driving or otherwise. The reverse isn't true, as I enjoy the cold, dry days of winter as most of us do here.
  2. not me. 6'1", 155lb cyclist and it's not super enjoyable peddling 75mi or more in the HHH. You're an anomaly.
  3. to each their own, but hot, clammy, itchy skin with sweat running down one's crack is not enjoyable when you're just "sitting around" much less doing yard work
  4. Other than this past Saturday, I haven't felt like it's been that bad heatwise. Our high so far is 87F. Throw in the dews and humidity and the complaining starts
  5. haha, that's awesome. heavy blanket ftw
  6. You like days like yesterday more than today? U nuts .
  7. Paul Revere. Lots of puddles from the rn .
  8. Props to the Bostonian Hotel. It's our anniversary and not only did they give us a top floor room with great view, they just delivered a cheese tray and bottle of champagne. It was funny cause we had a knock at the door and I wasn't sure who would be knocking, so I opened it with just a towel on since I had gotten out of shower. Guy was surprised for a second then said happy anniversary. Meanwhile still rn with some lightening. .
  9. Getting dark in Boston. Radar looks meh .
  10. Up to 0.5". Not at home so not sure how severe. .
  11. Lots of kids in the pee pool at Boston Commons. It's roasting, but humidity levels not too bad .
  12. Walking around dtown Boston. Steaming. Ducked into Jim Curleys for lunch. Glorious IPA is tasty .
  13. we'll be in boston for our anniversary. Hoping not to have to dodge the rn drops too much.
  14. Any rn chances in there? Gotta keep the lawn green .
  15. Quick update on last Fall's back yard lawn hydroseed project. Looks preety good now. Quite a few weeds in there, but I think I'll hit them with some fert/weed killer next month. Didn't want to stress it out too soon. Up close, still quite a few bare spots, mostly slopeside. Some yellowing in front of the oak. Not sure if it's due to sucking nutrients away from grass or something else, but I knew it might be a problem as the grass never grew well around it before. In comparison, 2015 was the worst (way before hydro project). In fairness, it was hot/dry that Summer. I'd be willing to bet this hydo would go to junk if we ever experience HHH this summer.
  16. Looks great, but you make it look too easy. I must have the worst green thumb for lawns .
  17. I think you're right about the buttercup. Extremely invasive, hard to get rid since the seeds are very hearty and just pulling the plant out doesn't guarantee the seeds left behind won't germinate. Recommendation is kill all grass and start over. I've got to get out of this high maintenance, high cost lawn project crap. .
  18. The first pic has a very soft fern-like leave while second spreads around the ground, right at ground level .
