  1. I had three options in my head: 1. Broadcast seed, then topdress with 1/4" loam. Requires ~15yd loam. Buddy has a skid steer and could help spread the loam around 2. Dethatch, then broadcast seed. I like this option because it's least expensive and the top layer should pull right out, but then raking it all up would be a pain. Seed would have immediate soil contact, but wasn't planning on using anything like straw to cover up since it'll just blow away. Maybe peat moss, but that's also a pain to spread and need a lot to be effective 3. Rent industrial power rake, which will pulverize top layer. This would probably be more effective and faster then using a dethatcher, but then might "pull out" the established grass clumps. FYI, I've spoken with a couple different lawn places and oddly none of them knew what caused my lawn damage and how to fix it. Guess they aren't very good at their jobs.
  2. No, the dead areas have been that way for two summers. The green clumps are what's left over from the damage. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  3. My lawn frustrations are well known here so I won't belabor it, but I've got about 15,000sqft of damage now. The old top layer just peels right off. Going to have to remove most of it to get seed down. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  4. I drink my fair share of IPAs, mostly during the summer and my cholesterol takes a hit by the Fall. Any alcohol isn't great for you, but I think the corn syrup they add to some beer makes it worse due to the sugar. I don't think all of it is consumed during fermentation. 7. variants are not the same as strains. There are genetic differences that can equate to antigenic differences that can impact degree of immunity.
  8. CDC just announced some sort of message that says "stop the disinfectant theatrics".
  9. I keep reading and hearing about "variants" plural, as if there are many and popping up every day. The only ones I've heard of is the UK B.1.1.7 and SA variants and I believe the UK one is the dominant one at this point. The problem is that the US is terrible at doing widespread sequencing to confirm what is actually present and where.
  10. Wife and two girlfriends are finally getting to Greece end of next month.
  11. I question how all of the sudden the 18-30YO crowd is now responsible for most of the infections when months ago they apparently were not. I get that vaccinations of the older population is having a pos effect and the virus is "looking" for other hosts, but unless there is a confirmed variant that is more transmissible to the younger crowds, then how can this age group suddenly be getting more infected than months ago? you think the virus said "i'll just leave that group of people alone until later".
  12. I've not been tested. My wife has three times.

  19. I'm pretty surprised where I work only one guy got covid at this point. Quite a few anti maskers including him and they work close to one another doing manual labor. In the labs where I work we're masked up but it took several months before anyone other than me would wear one. Our ceo doesn't enforce them so it's odd and annoying at times to work with some who wear them and some who don't. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  20. It's amazing how different the restrictions are between states. No live music allowed here yet, playhouses still closed I believe. Heck, I don't think the libraries are even open yet but could be wrong on that Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
