did they at least offer the remote learning? That's what they did up here, but I personally think the remote learning, especially for a one-off day like this is a waste of time. just give them the day off.
Our plow guy called me as he was backing in dropping sand and said he did not dare back down the hill to the cul de sac as it was glare ice and once you start slipping it's all over. Managed to throw enough of my own sand on the one hill leading out of our driveway. A bit white knuckle for a minute as I knew I only had one chance , but managed to get out. Hopefully it'll be fine by end of day.
Maybe 50F or so for a couple hrs tomorrow night, otherwise looks like low 40s most of day, at least in mtns. Ed said he was heading to camp for wknd but not sure if there will be anything worth riding on Sent from my SM-S921U using Tapatalk
Just pulled a young delivery kid in his rear wheel drive Benz out of ditch by our driveway. Guy had no chance on our road but he did have a screw in tow hitch already attached, so quick work Sent from my SM-S921U using Tapatalk
The S/SW winds in excess of 35mph makes our large window panes flex pretty nicely. Thought I recall reading they are rated for 70+. but don't really know for sure. Thought crosses my mind of blow outs with big southerly winds as prow of house faces due south.
Caribou FD looks bleak:
Rain Wednesday and Wednesday night will fall heavily at times with 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain expected with locally 3 to 4 inches of rain possible, especially Downeast and the Central Highlands. This will cause significant snow melt where the snow pack has set up across the north. Localized flooding is possible.
I've given up on expecting good Decembers (or winter) anymore. Used to get really upset about stuff like this, but now just accept it and move on. Sucks for sledding, but not much we can do.
