  1. Thank you for realizing that you were spoiled.
  2. We? I’m still running above average at this point.
  3. Clobbered? 5-8” is a clobbering now?! How far have we fallen…
  4. And that makes sense since that looks like a DT graphic and he lives in VA last I knew. Assuming it is some other forecasters graphic it should be in the banter thread.
  5. .5" at the stake but there's large patches of grass visible. I'm positive the stake will be 0" before the end of the day.
  6. Remaining above freezing overnight has done a number on the pack despite the slight glaze of ice I recorded yesterday morning. I'm betting the stake will be at a trace if not worse by tomorrow morning, it was 1.5" this morning.
  7. Oh I remember but seeing the clear landscape before it built again sucked. I agree, 93-94 ranks higher for me than 95-96. While 95 had a deep snowpack for Christmas up here and more snow as a season, 93-94 avoided wiping out the pack. There was that storm around Martin Luther King Day that went from snow to ice to rain and near 50 for a few hours but then that arctic front of yore came raging through and froze everything solid. What a winter.
  8. I hadn't seen your follow up post when you mentioned those states outside the northeast. Tis odd to call the scale what they did then.
  9. The only thing that jumps out at me is that the earlier storm covered more area.

  11. You are correct, a nice deep snowpack completely wiped out all over the northeast on 1/19-1/20/96. https://pubs.usgs.gov/publication/wri974252
  12. Yeah, society has become increasingly lazy. Plus, putting on a jacket, perhaps a hat and gloves too, can be taxing to those not accustomed to physical activity...
  13. He's an interesting character, we enjoy our time together. He's never used a computer, any type of cell phone, never been on the internet, never used an ATM, doesn't use the microwave.
  14. They are and there is no logical reason to dissect a 200+ hour ops map.
  15. .3 of leaf blower clean up snow here this morning.
  16. The posts about how much oil has been consumed in the past month reminds me of another story about my father-in-law, the guy who thought my snowboard was a great place to dump scrap food for all the animals outside but I digress. He tells me once “I went from Williamsport to here on a quarter tank of gas. Isn’t that good?!” “I don’t know, maybe. How big is your tank and how many miles was it?” I replied. Looking at me kinda complexed he says, “I’m not sure of the gas tank size but it was a quarter of a tank! That’s good!” After a bit of a blank stare from me all I could muster out then was “OK, that’s great. What do you want to watch on tv?"
  17. .3 of fluff total here, another leaf blower clean up.
  18. Forecasted low is 16 here and I'm at 10 and continue dropping.
  19. Don't underestimate the drifts that .5 on top of a glacier can cause in this wind, so good ones out here along 416.
  20. .5 here under bright sunny skies now, 20/7.
