  1. After a low of 30 up to 61 now, another beautiful day.
  2. Cue the "Its rained so much how could there be any brush fires?" posts. Special Weather Statement National Weather Service New York NY 822 AM EDT Tue Apr 23 2024 NYZ067>070-240000- Orange-Putnam-Rockland-Northern Westchester- 822 AM EDT Tue Apr 23 2024 ...ENHANCED RISK OF WILDFIRE SPREAD TODAY... The combination of low relative humidity between 25 and 30 percent and south winds gusting around 20 mph will result in an enhanced risk of wildfire spread. If any fires were to start the weather and fuel conditions could cause fires to quickly get out of control and be difficult to contain. The annual NY statewide burn ban is in effect until May 14th. No burn permits are issued.
  3. Wore shorts and a T-shirt this morning while doing some weed whacking...
  4. Nailed it. Lax season always started with coats and hats and ended with shorts while football season started in shorts and ended in coats and hats. The thing is, we're 'miserable' on the sidelines watching the kids play but it's all over before you know it so make the most out of whatever weather hand you're dealt. 37 for the low up here this morning. Keeping an eye on this afternoon but thinking the severe will be further west.
  5. @BxEngineto the rescue? Noticeable little drop in temps and dews with the front.
  6. That sucks! I woke up to various twigs and small branches down so had some decent gusts overnight.
  7. If it starts earlier than forecast is that a tell tale sign of a good eclipse?
  8. Great! Let me know what time you'll be passing through the OC so I can grab one of those growlers... Is that German bakery still there on Main St near Great Adirondack Brewing?
  9. Glad/surprised to see you posting at this hour. I figured you'd be hungover from crushing Ubu's all day yesterday while listening to Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart on loop.
  10. One of my sons might get the best of both worlds to some. He lives in Grapevine, TX, totality before severe weather later in the day.
  11. Sorry to hear about your Dad. Lost my Old Man in 2018, still grab the phone to text him a question sometimes... Lost my Mom last year along with my mother-in-law, it all sucks, no ways around it. Thoughts are with you and yours.
  12. No worries, that’s when the big one is gonna hit, we’ll all feel it.
  13. That's a good analogy, 2011 did feel like vertigo where today just felt like a vibration and shaking. I'm in the same building that I was in 2011 but was on the third floor then, first floor now. I'm not sure how much of a factor that is but to me 2011 was worse so its interesting to read everyone's different take here.
  14. Yeah, definitely felt it here, not as bad as 2011 though where I'm at
  15. Says the guy who's been asking for cloud forecasts for weeks
  16. I remember it, I recorded 5.34" for June, July, August which honestly is more than I would've thought with how dry everything was in July and August 2022. Lately we get 5" every couple of weeks.
  17. .2 here, gets me to 32.0" for the season.
  18. The NW crew here are well aware of the slight gap along the Orange/Sullivan County line, depending on the direction precipitation is moving in from, especially thunderstorms. I can't imagine being in a legit gap area.
  19. 62.86" since June. 70.09" since last April 1. Average annual rainfall is 40-45" in these parts.
