  1. Under my deck stairs in the back yard.
  2. Snowing here in Centreville, VA. 48.7 degrees!
  3. Wow, 3.5 at Dulles? Not bad. Impressive that it is 26.1 degrees at 2:24pm on March 12th. That is some cold.
  4. I had sleet for over an hour before any snow. Then other people said they had no sleet. I guess it all depends on where you are.
  5. Finally some fatties mixing in with the pingers, down to 34.7 degrees in Centreville, VA.
  6. I guess I will break the seal: radar looking a little ragged to the SW…
  7. 36.1 and rain and sleet in Centreville, VA. Sleet woke me up at 6:15, but it has been doing about the same thing for 40 mins. Ground is just wet.
  8. It pains me to read this thread, as I was contemplating chasing up to Boston yesterday but had too many obligations here in DC. We got a half-inch. But I am so happy for the coastal crew up there since they sometimes deal with rain/mix in some of the bigger storms. I think Logan gets all time record and hits 30 and there will be spots south of Boston that are in the 30s, maybe Quincy to Taunton area. Problem will be how to accurately measure with the wind/drifting so there will always be doubt/uncertainty. Enjoy it tho! I’m so jealous!!
  9. Probably just lag. We have no lag here in these weather boards. Ink on the model run is not even dry and we are either rigid or suicidal instantly. They have to take time to digest the runs and prepare a product that goes through some sort of review process before it goes out to the public (I assume?). That all takes time.
  10. I just saw 24-36” for Boston on Fox News (commence flaming) but then I come in here and it’s all gloom and doom. I’ve been thinking about chasing to Boston but is that not gonna verify for them now or something?
  11. I played trivia at my local brewery last night, and that movie was the answer to one of the questions! The topic for one of the rounds was Weather. I of course got all the questions right and did double-or-nothing for that round. I missed first place by 1 point overall though!
  12. Well, I think I would take a one-hour flight for $100 over that. We need the hyperspeed train that would be like 2 hours.
  13. if they do get 24+ tho, could I be back to work by Monday?
  14. Maybe models have severe issues between jan 25 and 27 I have very fond memories of that event. Going to bed looking at radar and thinking “hmmm, seems like that precip could get up in here… Eh, no way. The Mets/models would know.”
  15. I think he means the second storm, I wanna say 9-10 Feb. Its the only thing I could think of as well. I got decent snow, yes, and east and north of me got way more, but that was a case where we were all modeled to get some significant snow because the low was juiced coming in from the west. This one is not really juiced until it jumps to the coast, and I just wonder if this patch of light snow would actually materialize.
  16. “Unique setup” for DC typically means clean driveway/cartop/trashcantop.
  17. So I’ve lived here forever and I don’t ever remember a similar scenario to what is being forecast (let’s say 1-2”). It seems we either get snow from the coastal or we get totally shut out. When is the last time we got snow in a setup like this (assuming we miss all from the coastal)? I’m legit asking, not being negative or anything. I just can’t recall.
  18. Yes, we get somewhat combative and demonstrate massive negativity when things go bad, but we have some very smart posters and great mets. We are handcuffed by our location in the southern climes.
