  1. No doubt the 18z GFS shows the potential for an epic battle the next 2+ weeks with deep cold pressing and a strong ridge off the southeast flexing its early muscles. Regardless what falls from the sky, the QPF looks plentiful to feed the soil .
  2. His -9 here in Lebanon. Up to a balmy -6 now .
  3. Went down to 4° here in Lebanon this morning .
  4. Will give credit where credit is due. JB was all over the blend of the Kennedy and Reagan inauguration storm analogs and put out his final map yesterday. Overall he did well on this one .
  5. Still some light snow in Lebanon but “final” tally is 9.5” on this one. Very impressive snowfall rates today .
  6. Just measured 9” in Lebanon. Incredible .
  7. It means that the GEM and RGEM were not totally crazy with their 9-11” ranges a few days ago. Someone is getting 10” out of this in the LSV .
  8. Now at 7” in Lebanon. Snowing so heavy and about 2.5”/hr rates .
  9. About 200 yards of visibility in Lebanon. At least 2”/hr rates right now…almost to 6” now so this one will be an over-achiever in my books .
  10. Just measured about 1.2” of new snow in 30 minutes on the snowboard. Puts me almost to 4.5” now and still ripping here in Lebanon .
  11. Just measured 2” now in Lebanon with heavy snow. Temp down to 27° .
  12. Strongest pressure falls currently over the mouth of the Chesapeake. Usually a perfect location for the LSV to cash in on heavy snow .
  13. Moderate snow in Lebanon. Just measured our first inch. Roads snow covered and temp down to 29° .
  14. Snowing like crazy now in Lebanon. Temp down to 30° .
  15. There is an old saying/rule of thumb about follow the “finger” of initial snow breaking out and it will tip its hand and point to where the best dynamics are and where the best snows may be. So far it looks to be right over many of ours heads in the LSV. The fact steady snow has already broken out ahead of many of the models simulated radars is a good sign. I also have a straight north wind and moisture coming SSW looks like a pretty good FGEN zone establishing overhead. I am cautiously optimistic so far .
  16. Snow has commenced here in Lebanon. Starting up much earlier than some models last night indicating it wouldnt start until midday. Every flake counts! Lol .
  17. Long range HRRR is sorta meh for accumulations .
  18. I will be a pessimist and do the under at 5.2” lol .
  19. I will play. 5.25” snow on 0.47” LE .
