  1. Whiteface snow report Snowfall Past 24 hrs: 6 in Last 7 Days: 19 in Base Depth: 35 - 51 in Season Total: 144 in Holiday Valley Past 48 Hours 3 in. Season Total 115 in. Conditions Base Depth 18 - 54 in.
  2. Yeah long GFS brings us to middle of March with nothing. Would likely shut the door on winter. I don't think its a terrible pattern, something can pop up as cold air is close nearby.
  3. I do. Used to watch the weather channel for hours every day. Has been a long time joke that my babysitters wanted to watch cartoons but I wouldn't let them. They were forced to watch TWC.
  4. If you loop this radar you can see the LES off Huron. The stronger sun this time of year is preventing a stronger band from forming and keeping it cellular. KBUF mentions this in their AFD. although a strengthening sun should help to make the activity more cellular and thus less impactful. https://weather.gc.ca/map_e.html?layers=radar&zoom=7&center=43.43077718%2C-77.38116418
  5. I think the problem is the models have lake erie as frozen in their algorithm output. I looked at all the high res guidance and they all show literally nothing off Erie. It's a now cast event.
  6. 2.5" so far today and moderate snow. Looks like band is going to begin to move north again as winds are predominantly SW/WSW.
  7. Wow that’s a lot of open water. This is last good pic I could find from 2 days ago.
  8. That band is getting it’s act together. Did no model have it? Must be a reason buf is forecasting those amounts?
  9. Besides the tug and surrounding towns, areas east of Lake Erie experiences the highest snowfall rates anywhere east of the Rockies on average.
  10. Been so busy following the war that I haven't really looked at anything. I think there is a chance of some lake enhanced stuff ahead of arctic front tomorrow.
  11. Already couple inches of fluff here. Got 1" in 15 minutes and still heavy snow here.
  12. Yeah closer to lake Ontario the better. Niagara county did really well, along with Orleans.
  13. 2.1" storm total for me here for this event. 1" overnight of ice/sleet/snow and then 1.1" of fluff yesterday. https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&product=PNS&issuedby=BUF
  14. Pretty good bands across areas north of Buffalo. Think we had around 2" total today here.
  15. You can match up QPF vs snow here. It was below freezing so all/most this precip is sleet/fza. Obviously quite a bit more fell after these reports
  16. The Oilers need a goalie. McDavid might be looking to leave soon if they don't.
  17. The warning/advisories covered the 4-7” that occurred. The radar fluff that is falling doesn’t require a winter weather headline. We’ve become way too soft here if you think there should be one. We really need a real winter here.
  18. You don't need headlines for 1-3" of snow, its upstate new york.
  19. I've noticed that this year as well. The common wind direction has been WNW over Ontario. Every year there is a jackpot location depending on predominant wind direction for the year.
  20. been snowing pretty good last few hours here, Adirondacks getting slammed. Those rates on the mountains are likely way higher than radar imagery shows.
