  1. There was a tornado warning at this same time with radar indicating a tornado. That definitely looks very close to the ground, tough to tell because of how far away it is. But that is a massive funnel. There is a massive tornadic outbreak that is going to happen this afternoon. Some of the craziest soundings I've seen since April 2011. Will be following it closely in the western section.
  2. https://www.wgrz.com/article/news/local/rising-water-levels-in-lake-erie-causing-flooding-issues-in-ohio-and-michigan/71-5ab56a7f-171a-4858-ab1c-699f09abb4de
  3. The average high/low for the 26th (memorial day) is 70/51. Thought it would be a little warmer then that. Water levels right now are at their highest in history. I was looking at the walkway along the Niagara river and its almost completely submerged, I've never seen that before.
  4. Was planning on opening the pool on memorial day weekend, really hope we can get some nice weather next. This would have temps around 80 for at least a few days.
  5. Yeah I would only visit the Big Island or Kauai as we like to hike and explore quite a bit and those 2 islands are by far the best for that. The big island wasn't touristy at all. Have to show you guys some pics once I get uploaded, some of them are incredible.
  6. Hawaii was incredible, one of the best trips I've ever gone on. The diversity of climate was surreal. On the western portion of the island (downslope) you get 85 and sunny everyday. On the eastern side you get 70s and rain. On the two 13,700 foot mountains you get 30s and snow. On the southern portion where the active volcanoe is you get 60s and cloudy. I've never seen anything like it. All of that within a 2 hour drive. I came back to the worst weather ever, 40s and rain. However, this weekend looks fantastic 70s and sunshine!
  7. I think we start seeing a transition mid month towards more summer type conditions. Canada starts to heat up the last week of the GEFS
  8. I plan to do the Manta Ray night snorkeling, we are renting a 4 * 4 Jeep to go up Muana Kea and stay there at night for the sunset and milky way observatory. I guess its one of the best places in the world to view it. We also are going to most of the big waterfall and rain forest hikes, and dedicating a day to Volcano national park. Debating on doing a helicopter tour as well, but its pricey.
  9. It felt fantastic yesterday leaving work. Read 81 on my car thermometer.

  11. Leaving for the big island of Hawaii on Saturday. Has anyone ever traveled there? Any recommendations?
  12. It's summertime next month! Anytime have any advice on managing a pool, this is my first year with one. Looks colder then average to start the week and progressively get warmer the next few weeks.
  13. Get some jet skis they’re more fun anyways. You can use them May-September every year. I plan to get one soon, a bunch of my buds ride every weekend all summer.
  14. Some crazy videos coming out of Hong Kong from it’s second landfall.
  15. Ohio, your lake effect posts are the best on this forum. Always appreciate your insight. Good luck at your new location!
  16. Looks like you guys were right in Eries snowfall accumulations being incorrect. The NWS is tossing the 24 hour record and the December snowfall record and keeping them what they were. Interesting read. https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/monitoring-content/extremes/scec/reports/20180723-Pennsylvania-Snowfall.pdf
  17. That airmass resulted in one of Buffalos largest blizzards of all time. The entire county of Erie got nearly 3' with record cold temps and winds over 50 mph.
  18. Since it's summer the real thread should be about the warmest heat index on record for the USA. Has to be death valley right?
