    This explains the entire winter. Our only hope is the -EPO, but expect lots of cutters and hits the next few weeks. Little to no arctic air. Gradient type pattern locked in.

    You can get LES events in March quite often if you get arctic air. Just not so much off Erie as the lake is usually frozen. 2001-2002 was an example of a warm winter. 3 events in March. The mildest winter in 70 years. https://www.weather.gov/buf/lesEventArchive?season=2001-2002&event=D

    Lake erie is warmest it's ever been for todays date.

    That was the worst winter in Buffalos record keeping history, including when they kept records along the lake shore pre 1940. That is a once in a century type year.

    Pacific has been controlling the lower 48 all winter, like a strong El Nino.

    They've received 109" and do much better with snowfall retention at 2000' feet, but yes they've made a lot of snow at night.
