  1. Yeah it depends on your income level and available investments in your 401k.
  2. Everyone refinance their mortgage, the 10 year treasury is at historic lows. Also increase your 401k contributions, all economic factors are strong aside from the virus. Already did the 401k bump and my mortgage is at 4.65%, I think I can get it down to the low 3s.
  3. The grass was covered this morning. 79.3" on the season.
  4. My work just notified me if I travel to a country on the CDC list there is a 2 week mandatory quarantine. They also stated if I go to a country and it gets added to the list while I am there, there is a 2 week quarantine. The 2 weeks is taking from your PTO time, unless the country gets added while you're there in which case its 1 week PTO, 1 week short term disability. Hoping NZL doesn't get added in April.
  5. https://www.wivb.com/news/local-news/erie-county/more-than-100-people-quarantined-in-erie-county-based-on-potential-coronavirus-exposure/
  6. I mean I can see it. Chinese citizens were trying to have a revolution against communism. The riots the last few months were getting international attention. A virus that puts everyone in containment and off the street puts a end to that pretty quickly. That country is messed up, thousands go missing each year undocumented. Anything is possibly in a corrupt government.
  7. Luckily my chase sapphire card has travel insurance. I’ve never had to use it, so not sure how it works? But I plan on going unless there is a required quarantine in NZL or on my way back in USA.
  8. The mortality rate is really only hitting those 65 and older. Italy’s population is very old and retirement homes are where 90% of the deaths are occurring. A friend of mine is a PHD in pharm. She is in charge of a large group of scientist in charge of creating and testing medicines. This is what she told me today. So even though the number of cases increased fast with COVID-19, the good news is the mortality is still low and more specific to the elderly, a population that can hopefully be targeted for protection from transmission. The other thing I’ve thought of is it’s good that this virus has become so prevalent so quickly in the sense that many trials testing vaccines have already begun. This means in theory they’ll be available when we need them the most. I’ll send you a short FDA article I found interesting https://www.fdamap.com/fda-counters-coronavirus-based-on-the-realities-of-the-connected-world.html
  9. Spanish flu and Black Plague, let’s not forgot our history no matter our medical advancements. The smallest cells still kill us, cancer...
  10. Mortality rate is much higher though. SARS killed 813 people corona is already over 3000 https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/coronavirus-diseases-comparing-covid-19-sars-mers-numbers-n1150321
  11. Let’s get to summer and get rid of this virus. Talks about canceling international travel. Wife just got an email from her employer, a survey if you can work from home. (She already does). And also asking if you’re planning any travel outside of USA. We are to New Zealand next month. Trip better not be canceled!
  12. Top 10 warmest winter on record for Buffalo (#Buffalo 9th warmest, #Rochester 18th warmest, and #Watertown 10th warmest) Outlook for meteorological Spring (March-April-May) favors above normal temperatures to continue for our region.
  13. Hop on board the spring train everyone, no one is stopping it.
  14. Ef 3/4 tornadoes at nighttime with temps in the 50s/60s is commonplace? If so, I need to brush up on my tornadic knowledge.
  15. 19 people were sleeping at home in their beds and didn't wake this morning. Pretty crazy to think about a nighttime tornado in early March with low 60s temps creating a tornado strong enough to do that type of damage. Was it 10% hatch tornado last night in that area?
  16. Looks like strong EF3, low EF4 damage right through downtown Nashville, 10 mile path in the middle of the night. Absolute worst case scenario last night.
  17. Went bungee jumping in Ottawa a few years back, loved walking around that city it was beautiful there.
  18. Overnight tornado in Nashville looks like 10 people dead. https://abcnews.go.com/US/tornado-directly-hits-nashville-extensive-damage-reported/story?id=69352467
  19. I go for a walk nearly every night in summer with the dog. The muggy nights with the crickets, the best!
  20. Bring me a summer of high 80s and lows in the upper 60s please! Also lots of sun! Ready for some awesome nights on the water and at the beach! I can tell you don't enjoy those activates or you'd be hoping for the same thing. I enjoy winter as best as anyone can in Buffalo, but summers are by far my favorite season. There is just so much you can do in summer here in Buffalo compared to winter. Kayaking, boating, swimming, BBQ, biking, golf, parties over friends house in backyard, bonfires on the beach, rooftop bars, concerts, there is something going on downtown literally all summer in the city. Can't wait.
