  1. Coronavirus: France's first known case 'was in December' https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-52526554
  2. Small businesses were able to receive quite a bit of funding through the PPP program and EIDL program. Some of the clients I worked with actually profited from it. They have been in business the entire quarantine making profits and were able to receive substantial funding for payroll/rent for 2 months that is completely forgiven.
  3. I may just go hike all 46 peaks in the Adirondacks to prepare for Africa next year. I've already done 10, 36 to go.
  4. They canceled all canalside concerts for the summer. This might be the worst summer of all time. At least I have a pool. Going to have lots of home parties. So whose coming over for some drinks? https://www.wgrz.com/article/news/health/coronavirus/canalside-live-cancelled-for-this-summer-coronavirus-covid-19-music-concert/71-743ace43-c129-4b29-a665-97e74283015c?fbclid=IwAR1jdYsqexrzWnyPPOiq-EWeWGb8KnCQeTg_kRsRKJIo7dbCGpGHxTtCXM4
  5. The average high on Sat May 9th is 65 degs for Buffalo. We may not make it out of the 30s. That's incredible cold. Sep 30th the average high is 65.
  6. A nice page to show what's going on in Russia. Doesn't look too good over there.
  7. If China's labor force becomes too expensive we will just find another country to supply cheap labor. (Mexico) This is what capitalism does. It's been going on for centuries. I love watching shark tank and the first thing the sharks say when the cost of manufacturing is too high, they say go to China or Mexico. No one ever mentions opening up facilities in the US.
  8. This is a really good point. Same thing can be said with immigrants doing tasks for very low wages that most Americans want nothing to do with. I see loads of it where my uncle lives in south Florida. Not that I agree that it's right, wages should be based on supply and demand.
  9. A security guard is shot and killed after telling customer to put on a face mask https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/04/us/michigan-security-guard-mask-killing-trnd/index.html
  10. THE HEALTH EFFECTS OF ECONOMIC DECLINE https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3855327/
  11. I honestly don't know enough about the trade wars to make a comment aside from us needing to do something about literally everything being made in China. I want our country to start making more products instead of relying entirely on the servicing industry.
  12. Think about this. Canadas GDP is 1.7 trillion, Californias is 2.75 trillion. Canada is giving their unemployed workers $2k a month for 6 months. USA can go into debt because we still have the safest debt in the world. If the USA fails the entire world fails. China desperately wants to change that fact. They want to be number 1 badly. I love what Trump did to them these last few years.
  13. The $600 is taxable my wife gets it. She gets $525 with tax taken out. Stimulus I believe is untaxed.
  14. All income is taxable except HSAs used for health expenses and social security income if you make under a certain amount each year. I think these are the only 2? Are there any other sources of income that aren't taxed?
  15. If I'm not allowed to travel all year I plan to remodel my kitchen, bathroom, and fix my fence. I'll be helping the local contractors, lowes, home depot, and walmarts of the world. All of the money will be reinvested back into the market.
  16. Exactly. The major factor in allowing the USA to have such a great economy is the fact that none of us save any money and spend spend spend. It helps drive corporate earnings higher and higher and then they increase dividends and reinvest in new tech and on and on we go.
