  1. In the process of power washing, sanding, and staining my deck. Despite lots of energy I am still cold. Summer returns next week!
  2. Why don't you get a 2nd thermostat installed upstairs? Is it expensive to do that?
  3. After a brief cooldown this weekend we go back to mid summer weather next week. Monday Sunny, with a high near 76. Tuesday Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Wednesday Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Thursday Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Friday Mostly sunny, with a high near 83.
  4. Yeah I do not have AC currently, except a window unit for my bedroom. But I am getting it installed this year, its only $2500 for the entire house. I've never had AC living at home or when I moved out. When it's really warm at night I just splash water on my face and put a fan on. My old apartment used to be 80+ at night, it was rough.
  5. Man, this virus can really really mess your body up...it left holes in her lungs...she was in her 20s. https://apnews.com/90f342e73117fc9fa7f2b0e443d40941?utm_source=Twitter&utm_campaign=SocialFlow&utm_medium=APHealthScience
  6. Didn't you take the test back in March and test negative? But now you're positive for antibodies. These tests must be really inaccurate.
  7. 87 degrees with 69 dewpoint here right now. Line looks to be holding together.
  8. Strong line of storms near Cleveland heading this way. Models have them weakening quite a bit next few hours. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.
  9. I don't know if I would be able to do my hikes without hiking shoes. Walking in winter without protection is not good for you either. I never wear shoes when it's summer though.
  10. Almost all Buffalo summers are the same. High 70s/Low 80s with high dewpoints. 90% of the days feature lots of sunshine and very little clouds due to lake Eries shadow.
  11. The beach last night. Went out with some friends for spikeball.
  12. As soon as I hit 40 I'm taking test supplements. Maybe even the unnatural kind. Arnold looks pretty good for 72.
  13. Crazy story. A friend of mine just got the antibody test results for COVID. She and her husband were both positive. They were really sick in March. She said it did feel like the typical flu but intensified, and lasted for over 10 days. Her baby was a few months old at the time and she was breastfeeding. Her son received antibodies from her while she was fighting it off, helping to prevent him from getting sick.
  14. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-sweden-mortality/sweden-records-first-week-with-no-excess-mortality-since-pandemic-struck-idUSKBN23F1WK For those curious, they've had 4,600 deaths. Comparing populations, that would be the equivalent of almost 150,000 deaths in the US. So their no-lockdown (lockdown-lite -- limits on crowd sizes, etc) seems like a costly choice, but not devastatingly so.
  15. Can't wait. My sister has the medical card due to her chronic migraines. It also helps with anxiety.
  16. Tues and Weds look very warm. Could top 90 each day. Tuesday Sunny, with a high near 89. Wednesday Partly sunny and hot, with a high near 90.
  17. Wolf you love snow and cold more than anyone on these forums. You have to move to Buffalo, we have the best food in the world. So many good restaurants here. You will be greatly missed, and appreciate everything you've done for this forum. I'll have to come to jersey shore sometime. I'm kind of sad. You never got hit with a massive LES event while living over there. What was your biggest event? This could be the year! =(
  18. 29k new cases in Brazil, 1337 deaths so far. They exceed the USA in both by a fair number. They didn't start testing until early April.
  19. And you know their testing was way underdone. I would guess deaths/cases are at least double what is reported.
  20. Snow in July coming next. Or better yet a Hurricane that maintains its intensity until over New York State.
  21. 1.5" hail! That is insane for this area. Definitely the largest I've ever seen.
