  1. Reports: https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&product=PNS&issuedby=BUF
  2. My wife is unable to go back to work for awhile as foreclosures are delayed until at least Aug 19th and likely longer. Really hoping they extend the UI benefits even if they slash the $600 in half.
  3. "Piedmont Newnan is second on the list and listed as TOTAL diversion. Doesn’t mean we can close our doors, we still treat whatever comes. Don’t come to the ER unless it is an emergency. Expect to be seen in the lobby as there are no beds in house or in the ER. This type of diversion is nothing new, but not something we usually deal with in the middle of the summer. We have been full for weeks now."
  4. We got a ton of rain here. Had to eradicate the deficit completely.
  5. My buddy in Cali got called in today on his day off due to Covid rising like crazy over there. Also my friend in Atlanta said their ERs are full and that never happens in July, only in winter. Looks like Atlanta is going back to level 1 lockdown.
  6. @DeltaT13 Is that an eyewall forming over lake erie in those 80 degree temps?
  7. Heat wave looks to continue next week and looks impressive on the EPS. This takes us through the 24th.
  8. It's extremely difficult to put into context how impressive this heat wave was here in Buffalo. It's the most impressive in history. Buffalo on average receives 3-4 days of 90+ in any given summer. Our proximity to lake Erie and a predominant SW flow makes it extremely difficult to get high temps. We've never hit 100 and only 99 once. We hit 98 degrees yesterday and 97 degrees today. We broke the all time 90+ day streak at 8. We set record highs the last 2 days at 98, and 97 which are 2 of the 4 highest temps ever recorded in history. The last 8 days the temps hit. 90, 90, 91, 94, 94, 92, 98, 97 This will likely be the most impressive stretch of heat for quite awhile. But who knows with the earth warming so quickly.

  10. That link shows the hourly reports. The 6 hour max shows the timeframe in between those hours. 96 is highest so far today. It breaks record as warmest ever for this date. (95)
  11. Yeah, it was definitely in the models and forecasted. Just not to this degree. I wouldn't have expected this type of heat based on forecast either. Buffalo is never warm compared to surrounding areas. Just a perfect setup for heat here. Most intense heatwave we will likely experience for years.

  14. Crazy it hit 98 yesterday between 4-5 yesterday, pretty rare.
  15. 90 at 10:54. Officially broke the record. 8 days in a row of 90+
  16. Anything is possible in 2020. I'm calling for 2 Cat 4 Hurricanes hitting the USA at same time sometime in September.
  17. Yes, we got really close at a 99 heat index.
  18. No. For July we are averaging +9.7 from normal high/low for the day. The average temperature overall has been 80.3 which includes daytime high and low.
  19. Definitely looks a little weaker. The one latter in the week looks better. Seems like the core of heat transfers to the midwest and we get slightly above average temps. Tough to be warmer then this heatwave as its the greatest in BUFs history. Not sure why they used that wordage. Yesterday was 2nd warmest temp ever.
