  1. As we saw with Michael, it doesn't take long to get an exploding Hurricane in the gulf. It's like a hot spring with those water temps.
  2. Once it gets into the gulf it has the potential to explode. Not much hindering it. Imagine 2 Majors in the gulf at same time. It would be so 2020. Latest track has is going on the southern portion of that cone with more time over the water in the gulf.
  3. 10 minutes down the road from me gets an extra 75" a year. Doesn't really bother me.
  4. I'm not sure, but it would likely be quite close to the record. I know we are in the top 3 warmest summers of all time for June/July/August. There is some crazy potential the next few weeks in the tropics. My uncle and aunt are up from Boca Raton Florida for the summer and told them to get ready to book a last minute flight down.
  5. Right now Buf is at +3.3 for the month. Likely +5 or so once the month is over. The tropics look to get interested the next few weeks!
  6. Yeah next 7 days look like 85 and sunny. Perfect weather!! Keep the heat rolling right into October and lets get cold from Nov-March. Last years November really screwed us though, it was our only cold winter month. But its not always like that. Nov 2014 was really cold and it persisted through the winter.
  7. I joined shortly after you I believe. Loved trolling chris from Pendleton.
  8. I was playing flag football at mickey rats and was able to see the storms moving in. We got soaked. But no spouts. I also lost my keys in the sand there. =(
  9. Hope something gets passed. Still no word from my wifes employer. She has begun looking for new jobs.
  10. Temps look around average to slightly below the next 2 weeks
  11. Thanks. It was tough waking up the guys at the campsite to get ready to go that early. We actually missed it by 15/20 minutes but were close enough for those pics.
  12. I didn't even know something like this was possible. Sustained winds at that level for 30+ minutes for a thunderstorm. Just incredible event. Like some have mentioned, it looks like a hurricane coming closer as the intensity builds.
  13. Exactly. 150" a year is an insane amount of snow. It beats basically anyone east of the Rockies except snowbelts and really high elevations.
  14. I didn't see any color change up there quite yet. At the lower elevations it was in the mid 80s while we were there. Up above 4k feet there are different type of trees. Usually they start to change in beginning part of September up there and max out last week of Sep/first week of October depending on the year.
  15. That thing looked like a Cat 2 hurricane with consistent neverending high end gusts. I also didn't think that was possible in a severe weather event. Usually they are extremely brief.
  16. I just saw that. How do you determine 33% capacity? And no one is wearing a mask their entire workout, just ain't happening. When they come in and when they leave, but during workout I'd say 50-75% of people won't wear a mask.
  17. Definitely the most intense one I've seen on camera. 14 min mark is just unreal.
  18. Just got back from the Dacks. Hit up 5 more high peaks with some friends. On Thursday we started hiking around 2:30 am to make it up to Algonquin for a sunrise hike. Absolutely the most incredible sunrise I've ever seen. Perfect conditions up there. In the upper 40s, no wind.
  20. Two really nice shorter hikes that are not high peaks are Mt Jo and Ampersand. Would definitely recommend those 2 for a nice hike and view. October would be perfect as the colors should be in full bloom.
  21. 89'd yesterday. We are up to like 10 89s on the year I believe. +2.7 for the month. I'll be heading up to the Adirondacks again this week. Doing a sunrise hike on Thursday, really excited as it's supposed to be beautiful. Lows look to be in the 50s in town and upper 30s/low 40s on the peaks. We're doing Algonquin, Iroqouis, Wright, Giant, and rocky ridge this week. @Luke_Mages How was your gray and skylight hike?
  22. I wanted to see if it was just me in how warm its been the last few years. I went through the monthly reporting data back to Aug of 2015 and we have had 40 months above normal with the majority of months well above normal (+3-+8 range) December 2015 featured a +12 departure...INSANE Since Aug of 2015 there have been 20 months with below normal temperatures. Those below normal temp months departures are very small compared to the warmer then average months. So on average right now for every month of below normal temps we get 2 with above. Global warming is real and its effects are evident in Upstate New York and increasing rapidly. They're calling for a warmer fall and potentially warm winter as well. This is the new norm.
