  1. Storm starting to look very juicy on the national radar. Also, it’s weird being at 19 degrees before a storm!!! Normally it’s 51 and we’re waiting for a miraculous 20 degree drop to occur (which never happens). Flakes will not be wasted with this one.
  2. Really? Was just going by the ensemble member low positions. Looks like a big cluster in spots that usually work for us.
  3. Was just about to post that EPS looks like a clean miller A.
  4. Solid 8-12 inches before the dry slot, see if we can get some backend stuff.
  5. The SREF + long range HRRR + 12k nam trio is basically useless
  6. The SREFs are junk, surprised they are being posted so much.
  7. This is a good trend for us. North enough to bring the goods but not north enough for dry slot/mid level warming.
  8. Yeah that looks like a really good map. LOL HRRR is a beat down. 10 inches by afternoon and looks like part 2 forming.
  9. I still think this bumps north tonight and tomorrow at least a little. Baltimore gonna do ok.
  10. Yeah the coastal is the thing I really want to trend better. Unfortunately as of now it looks like the globals (GFS/Euro/CMC) have that area of coastal snow just a little south of Dc Metro, would like to see that bump north.
  11. It’s crazy how you don’t even have to look at models besides the euro. They all just trend towards it.
  12. With an 8-12+ zone in that sweet spot where the banding makes it without temp issues.
  13. It’s frigid out now. I believe these more southern solutions based on the way it feels this morning. RGEM and ICON both trending towards the Euro it seems.
  14. That actually looks pretty good for us but the Euro/GFS/CMC have that initial overrunning band WAY south of the NAMs, so I have to go with them.
  15. Yeah, kinda hard to take it too seriously though when all the good global models do not show this.
  16. Coastal taking over at hour 60. We have to hope it’s wrong about punching that dry slot through nova into dc. Baltimore likes this run.
  17. Absolutely, I’m a snow pack guy as well. This week will be ideal with the low sun angle and temps in the 20s.
  18. Beautiful - that’s about a 30 mile northward bump by the 1 inch contour and a much expanded 1.2 contour. Legit shot at 8-14 for DC if that thing makes one more bump north.
  19. DC is gonna get smacked. In a really good spot for this one.
  20. The spread isn’t that large really. It’s gonna snow in Maryland and Virginia. 3-6 or 4-8 probably works for most of the area except the edges. Most storms are like this with the shifting and model disagreement about placement of bands.
