Could just be the second cup of coffee hitting but I'm feeling a little optimistic about this storm for some reason. Feel like we get some better trends today.

That is a good point about barely touching freezing. Coldest in mby has probably been like 29.

Euro says we’re still in the game in the metros. Gonna be close but not ready to wave the white flag yet.

Sure did. Meaningfully less snow inside the beltway for sure but temps are still pretty cold, so a decent amount of mix and not a complete washout.

It's not even that great for the far northern crew. Have to get to the MD/PA border to get decent accumulations.

Might've been discussed a few pages back but the 06z RGEM is pretty nice for DC. Verbatim it's 5 ish hours of snow, then sleet, then back to some heavy snow before it pulls off, all with temps right at or below freezing.

Yeah, it's definitely going to be interesting to see how it plays out. Either way, I'm happy to be in the game and not going to be surprised/disappointed if we don't put up big (6 inches or more) numbers. Would be very happy with an inch or two, rain/sleet. and a flip back to snow for some more minor accumulations.

I wouldn't count us out just yet. We're right on that line. If we can flip back and get under the CCB, even if not for very long, we might be very pleasantly surprised.

Seeing the 06z euro is “nam like” on phillywx. I’m guessing that’s not good for us...

320 ft ASL almost directly on the fall line well inside the beltway. Whenever there is a “fall line” scenario I feel like I group with the wrong side of the line team.

That’s pretty good for around here. Half the time we get a storm it melts within 12 hours.

A blend of the euro/gfs is pretty decent for dc metro even inside the beltway but I’d like a little more wiggle room.

Definitely improved from 00z. Best CCB is north but we still get some.

850 line doesn't make it nearly as far north through 84. Now lets see if we can get some CCB rakeage.

This is how we lose in dc metro, quick flip and no CCB. We all know it’s possible, hopefully the king disagrees.

I sure hope you’re right, but my confidence isn’t super high at this time that what you’re describing will occur. Not a ton of wiggle room inside the beltway.

I mean I’m a little worried. We have a storm and some cold coming together which is nice, but we need that ccb to save us if the euro depiction is right, and you know that ccb setting up right over us is no guarantee.

Yeah that was a fun one. Got about 4-5 inches pretty quick, and then it was cold after and turned into cement.
