  1. ICON is 12 hours of cold powder on Tuesday. Temps in the low to mid 20s. I'm going to just file this away in "I'll believe it when I see it" for now.
  2. So are you saying I'm going to get 6 inches from this storm? That is a pretty remarkable bust from inside 72 hours for the EPS. It's really going to be hard to trust it again.
  3. No question. As others have mentioned/alluded to it will be simply be harder for us to get snow as our climate warms. Of course it's not just a DC problem, as the years/decades pass it will creep up to colder climates. Look at the projections of how this will affect our ski areas. https://www.climate.gov/news-features/climate-and/climate-skiing
  4. Hahaha same here. Looks the same as our last "winter storm". As someone else pointed out it has snowed 3 times now recently but never at a temperature below 32 degrees for any amount of time.
  5. I'd take my chances any day with that sounding. Even if it was sleet it would actually be fun because it would be so cold.
  6. It's very cold at the surface for the entire event, even for DC. Teens to around 20 for the entire thing. Seeing as how everything has trended to 32-35 and white rain for DC this year I remain skeptical.
  7. Hahaha we lose again, oh well. We need to move to a real snow town, like Dallas! They’re going to have snow and temps in the teens.
  8. Looks like about a half inch of melty slop here.
  9. It’s all sleet here in Takoma park. Who knows, it’s sleeting north of Winchester but snowing hard just to our north and northeast.
  10. Radar looking good for DC now in terms of getting precip in here at least.
  11. It really looks like this batch wants to get into DC....
  12. Pretty uniform temps area wide right now, 32-34 from the northern tier of Maryland all the way down to Fredericksburg.
  13. If you look on precipitation depiction radar you see that the back edge of this first batch over dc isn’t progressing to the East much, it kinda keeps filling in. Maybe a sign it’ll link up with the new stuff coming over the mountains.
  14. It’s still Wednesday, just need a few 30 mile north shifts.
  15. The trajectory of the radar looks questionable for DC, we’ll see though.
  16. It’s been a pretty wet storm here already. Steady rates for a while now. Solid coating. If it were 5 degrees colder I bet I’d have 1.5-2 inches.
  17. Temps down to 33-34 now, you’d think we’d be able to get below freezing from here in metro DC. Now if they precip later would cooperate.
  18. That band did some work on temps. Down to 34.
  19. Takoma Park. Heavy snow here. Temp down to 36.
  20. Getting close to, if not, heavy snow. Visibility dropping.
  21. Nice burst of moderate snow in this band near DC, temp down to 37. 5 degree drop since the precip moved in.
  22. Nice steady snow, really a shame it’s 38 degrees.
  23. Looks like some yellows forming over DC, let’s see if this band can get our temps down a bit.
  24. Nice little burst of snow, big flakes, 38 degrees.
