  1. LOL don't look at the GFS. Do yourself a favor just go outside right now.
  2. I agree with this. For all the crap we collectively give it it always seems to lead the way on East Coast snowstorms inside of 72 hours. We dismiss the first run where it shows a north trend, and then the second, but then by the 3rd or 4th all the globals are on board with it. It's way better than the RGEM imo.
  3. You must be new here hahahaha. Btw FATTIES in Takoma park outta nowhere.
  4. The Rgem seems kinda like the ukie to me. More often than not if its out on a limb it doesn’t lead the way. BTW I think the para has had the NYC jackpot for a while now, if that does indeed happen it’ll be a good performance for it IMO.
  5. RGEM has the area of backside snow roughly in line with the euro for Tuesday. It’ll be awesome if that happens for whoever gets under it.
  6. this is going to be me watching the epic meltdowns in 2 hours if that dry slot in VA makes it into DC metro and shuts things off early.
  7. Yeah my parents and brother all live in NY so I’ve been following it for them. Pretty nice pressure gradient setting up so even though the storm isn’t that deep it’s going to be near blizzard for them. Wouldn’t be surprised to see blizzard warnings hoisted for NYC and LI. Oh well though, that’s for them, getting some bigger flakes here in Takoma Park again and rates improving a bit.
  8. This is how it is around here for the most part. I grew up in upstate NY and it took me a while to get used to the fact that even some of our “cold powder” events aren’t really that cold and there’s still slush on my driveway lol. It’s no big deal, we live in a marginal snow region on a rapidly warming planet. Just enjoy whatever we get!!! That’s what I’m doing and not sweating the details.
  9. Went out with kids already had a blast. Oh well if the NAMs say this is it, at least it’s pretty outside and it’s cold!
  10. Nice rates now and flake size increasing a bit. Will say SN. Takoma Park
  11. This is a very intriguing panel. When does this mostly fall, overnight Tuesday?
  12. Enjoy the next 12 hours of snow folks! It’s been a while since we’ve had an all day snow like this.
  13. Yeah, on the other side of the park I notice it ascending from columbia heights up to carter baron on 16th. I work in Columbia heights and sometimes there won’t be any stickage but then you get up there and all of a sudden it is.
  14. I’ll take the 3 at the bottom that are most like the reggie.
  15. Yeah I dunno obviously I’d rather be further north and East, and climo argues for that of course, but it’s not that far away. I’m gonna enjoy the overrunning snow tomorrow but not give up hope on the CCB til the last minute. Even that January 2019 storm with that jacked up CCB surprised me a bit, I was sure it wasn’t gonna happen.
  16. I think I’m getting too old for this lol. About to have a seizure trying to figure out which one is the most recent run.
  17. Hahaha I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not. I don’t think we’re out of the game for the CCB, it’s just that that’s the 2nd or 3rd euro run with a nice stripe around or over Baltimore.
  18. It is quite remarkable how different an outcome those two models are showing for our area given how similar those two panels look. If I didn’t know anything else and you showed me those two I would assume the snow amounts were pretty close between the two.
  19. When does that corridor from DC north and East to Baltimore pick up the additional QPF? On the 18z euro panels posted I never really saw the CCB dip down into that area.
  20. Man, Baltimore sure does look like a decent spot for this one. Euro steadfast with that area of heavier QPF from DC northeast.
  21. All in all ends up about the same as 12z. Looks to be split about evenly with WAA and CCB for DC. Where do I sign?
  22. To be honest I got scared just looking at these within 15 minutes of the next euro lol
  23. Yes! I’ve been looking forward to tomorrow all week. I love a big shield of snow you can just watch roll in.
