  1. I’m going to go ahead and not do that lol. Gimme my 3-5 inches of backside fluff.
  2. Yeah but the radar is looking decent now for dc metro and we have until about 9 or 10 pm before it shuts off.
  3. Looks like a cohesive shield may be trying to form. hrrr doesn’t have any kind of cohesive shield until 7 for dc. Maybe we can score a coup over the short range guidance which says we’re basically done.
  4. Nice fluffy stuff here, good ratio. Hopefully we can pile this up all afternoon and evening.
  5. Yeah this is nice. Bulging a little bit to the SW I like the look of the radar. This might have some staying power.
  6. You can see the mason dixon line band and the skinny moco band starting to merge a bit. Maybe a larger more coherent precip shield forming over maryland?
  7. So what's going on now? Radar is filling in along the mason dixon line and that band just north of DC. HRRR doesn't have either of those.
  8. Euro is not far from a phase. We have time to reel this one in.
  9. Upper level stuff looking more vigorous on radar than the HRRR is giving it credit for. Maybe this part has a bit more upside.
  10. I like where we are for this one, always prefer misses to the south at this range than miller B bombs that only hit New England.
  11. Hanging on to light snow in the dry slot. Beautiful here.
  12. Banding is persistently reforming. Must be around 6 by now.
  13. I can literally see it piling up. This is prob the 2 inch per hour stuff.
  14. SN+ with perfect flakes under these yellows
  15. Quick perusing of radar and those models and my conclusion is the 3k NAM matches best with current radar. This conclusion is 100% not at all biased by the highest QPF number 3k is beautiful with the backside. Fluff for all.
  16. Good flake size now, seeing some dendrites, should be better rates.
  17. Models showed this just seems to be a little quicker than scheduled, which often happens. This might be the end of part 1 for those of us a little north of dc but we’ll see if we can get a little more.
  18. OK now in that nasty dry slot. Basically shut off. Lets see if we can get it going again before this part is done.
  19. Interestingly not under any returns but getting moderate snow to almost heavy snow in takoma park. The radar is not accurately depicting the snowfall.
  20. Dumping snow now right on the edge of the dry slot.
  21. Gosh it’s beautiful outside. I moved to takoma park in 2017 and this is the first cold snowstorm we’ve had here. Pretty much all the others I’ve barely had to shovel because the concrete basically melted on its own. This is great.
