  1. I've noticed that for greater DFW, the closer you live to the Red River, the more often you get the worst weather (of all types). Obviously not in every instance, but rather on average.
  2. Hmm, not looking forward to tomorrow night's storms. Very windy this evening in Ft. Worth. Relatively low dew points felt great. Wish DFW was 150 miles further west, dew points are usually low enough once you reach Abilene (and definitely by Sweetwater) that summers never really feel that hot out there.
  3. So we've had tornadoes today in Jackson, MS, Jackson, TN, and now Jackson, AL. I probably won't be moving to anywhere named Jackson. Tornado se of Brent, AL looks to be mowing down pine tree stands. That crap snaps in half easily.
  4. Wears Valley fire and evacuation looks pretty serious. One TV reporter is claiming tomorrow's rain will not be enough to put it out.
  5. Back to scheduled programming, I'd hate to be on a towboat inside that tor warn that runs up the curvy Mississippi River north of Clarksdale, MS. Meanwhile, further south
  6. Big tornado outbreak and once again people can log into their local NWS pages. I might buy the inevitable "Russia musta hacked us!" excuse if it hadn't been happening off and on for many months. And even if it actually is, agencies have been instructed for several years now to upgrade their cyberdefenses. "What would you say you do here?" National Weather Service Wed Mar 30 2022 15:51:45 GMT-0500 (Central Daylight Time) The page you requested cannot be found. Please check your URL and try again.
  7. 4 simultaneous tor warns along the foothills/mountains. Not something you see every day....
  8. Still ongoing https://forecast.weather.gov/wwamap/wwatxtget.php?cwa=JAN&wwa=tornado warning
  9. Might be better to move MS & AL to the Tennessee Valley section. This Southeast board has never given a flying flip about tornadoes in AL and MS.
  10. https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=29.9859&lon=-90.145&unit=0&lg=english&FcstType=graphical
  11. The (sometimes) Weather Channel showing extensive damage to homes in Round Rock. Roof damage/gone on several houses.
  12. So are radars down nationwide? Every NWS page I go to has "Radar image unavailable." DFW, Houston, Memphis, Atlanta, DC.
  13. Storm viewership must be busting for The Weather Channel, they've really ramped up the formulaic inanities this afternoon. A few minutes ago: "Tornado confirmed near BFEgypt, AL, population 2. If you know someone there, please give them a call...."
  14. The occasional Weather Channel is calling for .25-.75 inches of ice on the north side of DFW. Much of DFW is still supplied by overhead lines, passing through Don't Touch My Beautiful Trees NIMBYhoods, so if that forecast verifies there's a high likelihood of significant outages.
  15. You need to return your Google Traffic, it's defective.
