  1. You get any damage? That line that just crossed US27 looks pretty nasty, too.
  2. Starting to pop up from Hendersonville and the Cumberland River.
  3. The stuff dive bombing Arkansas from MO/KS is flying.
  4. Edit: Nevermind, radar false alarm Of course on the one week I can't park in my garage because of construction. How big is the Nashville hail risk for the 1am-6am rounds?
  5. Good to find this subforum a few hours before I die in a tornado. Nashville, here. Never was sure if I was supposed to post in the Southeast or Ohio Valley subforums.
  6. For those wanting to see 'before' pictures, that's the Fastrip at 3950 E 20th St, Joplin, MO 64801-5851 (SW corner of 20th and Duquesne). Google Streetview and Bing Bird's Eye View both cover that area.
  7. According to an article yesterday, that is exactly what happened to 7 people killed at the Home Depot.
  8. Based on that video, my guess is that JoMo's house survived intact. (Edited to remove street names. )
  9. Adding $5-13,000 to the cost of every new home (probably more once it becomes gov't mandated), pricing a whole lot more people and families out of these houses and stuck in mobile homes and flimsy apartments. Brilliant way to increase deaths in the 99% of tornadoes that aren't EF5. How about we let each person make their own decisions.
  10. Go to Bing Maps' 'Bird's Eye View' to see excellent 'before' views of what was damaged/destroyed. Some reference points: Video starts facing east at 35th and Exchange Ave (road next to RR tracks) :37 - Road crossing the freeway is 31st st 1:00 - Roseland Courts public housing, looks to be about 40% destroyed. 2:30 - 15th St and 5th Ave 2:50 - McFarland Blvd just south of 13th St, the Hobby Lobby strip center where a lot of the evening video was shot of people walking up and down McFarland past the rubble. Offscreen to the right of this video but easily seen in Bird's Eye View is the mall parking lot where that kid got the dramatic tornado vid: SE corner of McFarland and 15th, he starts facing west across McFarland, ends facing north across 15th, then heading east. 3:30 - Slabs were industrial buildings between the RR tracks south of University and Kicker. 3:50 - Church at University and 22nd. 4:33 - 4th St between 30th and 31st Ave. 5:05 - Trailer park west of Crescent Ln at 1st. 5:55 - Elm Dr at 44th Ct.
  11. Thanks for posting. For the before images, enter "Rosedale Courts, Tuscaloosa, AL" on google maps. Was a single-story brick public housing complex on the west side of 10th ave at 27th st.
  12. Good video of 4 MS/AL tornadoes from some chasers: May want to mute it, lots of screaming dork throughout.
  13. Already the 3rd worst in the last 50 years and 9th worst in the last 100. According to Wikipedia (yeah, I know): 1974 - 317+ deaths 1965 - 256+ 1953 - 247+ 1936 - 454+ 1932 - 330+ 1925 - 747+ 1920 - 243+ and 280+
  14. Then the live feed over Spaulding Co. GA tseems to suggest at least EF3 in spots, from what my amateur eyes can tell. Definitely the tree damage, though not necessarily in a wide swath or continuous. Some bare concrete slabs, with the adjacent homes suggesting those were either traditional wood-frame or perhaps pre-fab (not trailers.) Also wood-framed houses reduced to rubble with piles of lumber and siding blown across the road.
  15. "http://www.ajc.com/news/storms-kill-11-in-928006.html Spalding Sheriff's Capt. Tony Ranieri was directing traffic at the intersection of School Road and Hwy. 19/41. "All of our traffic lights are gone," he said. "We don't know where they're at."
  16. Video of some of the Ringgold damage: http://www.newschannel9.com/articles/reports-1000662-ringgold-hit.html
  17. http://wdef.com/news..._medium=twitter Chattanooga: 41-year-old Mai Crumley was killed in the Shepherd community. While her family huddled in her home, she stuck her head out to what was happening, just as a tree fell on her mobile home.
  18. From the same source: CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Here's the latest update on damage from the storms that have hit the Tennessee Valley. 20. The earlier "hundred dead in Tuscaloosa" rumor appears to be false. Tusc. mayor just reported 15 dead and more than 100 injured.
  21. I'm afraid NW of Birmingham is going to end up being much worse than Tuscaloosa. On the level of Greensburg, KS or worse.
