31.1°, and snow back in Bradford, per the nest cams, maybe 0.5" so far, but hard to tell. Dumping rain here outside the Albany area, (around 1100ft, about halfway to the Mass border), but can see the trees whitening on the 1400ft hill just across the road. Happy Thanksgiving! -

First ballot I would hope... Nah, no chance I'm missing out on Thanksgiving. My nephew has just started talking and I need to ensure he says my name before he says my sister's. I'll be driving back Friday morning across southern Vermont anyway. That'll give me my snow fix assuming the event materializes. -

Bah, this looks like it could be a decent event around these parts. Too bad I'll be in the Albany area on Thursday for Thanksgiving. Wonder if I ought to fake sickness. -

Lovely - yet dreadfully boring weather - so here's a barn update. Still need to knock out the cupola, but nearly done with framing and sheathing. Getting a nice patina on that CDX. Underlayment and house wrap soon. Also, I only slipped and needed my harness to save my life once while nailing down that roof sheathing. -
2.81" storm total in the stratus. Power was out for a couple hours last night too.

Faked my way down to 48.9° this morning.

It no longer rains. The lawn has undergone desertification and Shai-Hulud is on the prowl. Spice Melange hangs in summer zephyrs that give no moisture. I'm making a stillsuit in my basement as we speak. -

Headed up to a car show at Weirs Beach today - Dad and an old Navy friend of his wanted to go and I didn't have anything planned, so I had them pick me up and take me along. Nice day for it for sure. But damn, the perception of what makes a "cool car" really does swing wildly from generation to generation. I couldn't peel my Dad away from the slew of C2 Corvettes they had there. Meanwhile someone had brought a BMW Z8 that I couldn't take my eyes off of, ha! Anyway... If ya got a lot of money to blow and space to boot, do yourself a favor and buy a low mileage Testarossa, 348, F355, etc. One day, those cars will be worth a lot of money, And nostalgic Boomers will no longer be around to pay $400,000 for a mass-produced Chevy, lol. -

Correct! Inside stairs will work for boards up until 12ft or so. Past that? No chance at the pivot. -

2x12s at 16" centers was a bad choice. Not much of an update - but for your entertainment I've linked a 10 minute video showcasing the my struggle of setting just one of those things in place. => -
