  1. As you can see from this light pollution map, nothing much is going on out this way, lol. Great for astronomy though.
  2. Yeah Keene always seem to get screwed. Maybe they do well in SWFE events? Anyway, here's current snow cover with my location circled. Obviously not every winter is the same, but in general the east slopes do better. I averaged 11.5 inches on the ground at my house at around 4pm today.
  3. Honestly, there doesn't seem to be too much of a downslope/upslope effect off of Sunapee. Not a perfect example, but I certainly get more snow than Newport, Nh - which is to the west and roughly the same altitude. See the annual precip map below. East slopes are wetter on average. Of course that's covering a whole year and not just winter, so far from definitive.
  4. Yeah, I'm dropping like a rock here too. 34.3 already. Not an event I really want to be ahead of schedule on.
  5. Yup, that's the one! This is where I live. Town of Bradford is marked by the dotted line and my house is within the circle. There's actually not any real good way to go direct to Keene from where I live - the fastest way is through Henniker.
  6. Everyone just needs to calm down. The 18z ICON is running - we'll all have the answers we're looking for in a short while.
  7. 18z HRRR and 3km NAM have decided to up the freezing rain threat. Check out the FRAM estimates and the total ZR QPF on the 3k NAM. Not sure I've ever seen green show up on one of those before.
  8. After seeing the 12z HRRR I ran down to the Warner Market Basket off 89 to run around screaming about bread and milk. Pretty stark difference in snowpack down that way (they had maybe half as much as me). Anyway, reached a high of 43.3 here back home but have since dropped to 42.6. Checked the models and it seems like the 18z HRRR is still trying to murder me and my family, wish me luck.
  9. What in the hell is the resolution on that model? Looking like the PS1 Lara Croft Tomb Raider game.
  10. 12z 3k NAM ZR QPF map for the lols. Not sure what's behind the algorithms that generate these, but they need to lay off the crack.
  11. Gorgeous morning. Thermometer is reading right at 32.0 but I suspect it's a little warmer than that. Still an icy crust on the snow, but less than last night. Conifers have some bend to them, but nothing too extreme. Hopefully tonight doesn't add too much ice (if any). Also seen is the one of the collapsed tents that I have yet to do sh*t about.
  12. 31.7 degrees according to my thermometer. Hopefully that's accurate and I'm about to warm up enough for the freezing rain to cease. The ice crust has definitely passed 0.10". Trees seem to be doing ok for now (hard to tell in the dark), but if this keeps up, I know how quickly things could go downhill fast.
  13. The coal-fired power plants of Germany are spooling up, and juice is getting sent to the Deutscher Wetterdienst supercomputer as we speak. The 00z ICON is running, and I'm watching it like a hawk.
  14. Hey that's pretty rude. Prismshine Productions actually posts useful information, whereas I, clearly, do not.
  15. 30.6 degrees and light freezing rain. Nothing too crazy, but trees are starting to sag and forming on the snow cover,
