Ravens didn’t deserve it. After 5 weeks of playing great team ball and no silly mistakes … they reverted back to the early season Ravens. Yet they still had a chance late in the game. Lamar’s fumble for a Bills’ TD just about sums up several of the losses this season. Unfortunate that Andrew had his first fumble in 6 years at about the worst possible time in the game. Buffalo played smart. The best teams find a way. I’ll be rooting for the Commanders going forward.

Low 18.5 this morning. Probably the warmest low for the next several days.

Balto=turnovers.bad. Buffalo=none.good.

Breezes have picked up. 32.2 at 4:30 Have had sleety snow at all different intensities. Then it went to all-snow and was quite heavy for a while. Steady snow now. Small flakes make it look less intense or threatening. Sidewalks, car tops, deck and my side street all whitened. Will measure after. -
Columbia snowing

Spent morning at Natl Aquarium in Balto. with car temp 39. Back in Columbia at 35. Waiting…. -
Bad officiating today strongly favors KC. Plus Houston beating themselves.
-
I know HoCo is divided into a NW zone for higher elevations and then “the rest of the county”/SE zone …. and I suspect NWS does the same for where u see the other split county advisories.

2-4” would be fine by me, with 3 cars to shovel out. Much easier than removing 6”. Oh well, that’s my rationale for being happy with whatever I get. 25.2° imby at 6am. Currently it is the morning low.
-
Flurries in Columbia and 19°. Almost steady light snow.
-
Low IMBY 11.3, coldest yet altho surely getting colder Tuesday-Wednesday mornings
-
Morning low 16.4 — approximately what my expected high temp is for next Tuesday.
-
Wisp cam was showing some pretty nice and impressive rates a bit earlier. Stayed in Grantsville for 5 days early December. It just wants to snow there.
-
Columbia inconsequential steady flurries. Temp went from 27.4 to current 28.1

January Medium/Long Range: A snowy January ahead?

The very fun NE.Weather Snow Forecasting Contest makes direct reference to Joe Bartlo under the section “Who Can Enter” and includes some of his humorous postings (will sound non-sensical if u weren’t there) and ravings complete with his typos from back in the old bulletin board days of ne.weather where everyone fought with posts about who was right or wrong. Inside jokes in this section; “you had to be there” with Bartlo’s posts. Bartlo was a trip. The forecasting contest grew out of frustration with having to deal with newsgroup personalities like Bartlo who tried to hijack and ruin weather forecasting discussions. Not much monitoring back then in late ‘90s. The Contest jokingly honored him after he passed away. http://www.newx-forecasts.com And now, we return to our 21st century regular programming.
