Yeah i was shocked heading to the grocery store,its pounding snow now. Eyeballing close to 2 inches now..10+ is very possible here.

Its snowing hard rn..jeebus did it crank up quick. 32f heavy snow currently.!!. Most are over an inch across the bronx.maybe 2 in some iso pockets..

Crazy that its still early and we still have a ccb to go thru later,which should be epic. Radar is now blowing up. Gd times ahead.

Your in the great arc of 700mb banding. Stretching from Hartford ct across to prt jervis ny down towards the poconos pa. All those places are reporting 4 to 7 inches aready.

Wonder if central park measures a real snowstorm today or just puts the automatic .9 inch in the yard..suspense i tell ya..

The eastern fetch is strong rn, coastal ma,ri and eastern l.i will have mixing issues it seems esp if this has indeed trended a bit more west and north as it bombs out. We all get rocked equally today though.

I did mention how it was only warm for less then 3 days,really cold before that for about a week. Radiational cooling kept ground temp chilly for you guys up there.

The changover was supposed to be happening around this time as forecasted. Yet it started as frz precip and some rainn..to all snow by 3 am.

There are reports of 4 to 6 inches already around the poconos and the Stroudsburg area and snowing hard,they are gonna blast thru their 6 to 8 inches in the next 2 hours .

Officially pounding snow here at home. Temp has dropped to the magical freezing mark as well up here. Things looking great on radar for the next 6 to 8 hours.. 32f mod to heavy snow currently.

10+ is prob gonna happen here quick,the good stuff is still coming this way so it snows for a while.

That ccb is what brings the goods later. Its been snowing moderately here in the bx since about 2 am. Cars trees and grass def white. Started as sleet and lgt rain for about an hour.. 33/31f with moderate snow currently.

Current temps are falling along with the dp's. 39/26f here in the nw bronx. When the heavy precip arrives temps are gonna crash.

I agree. Isolated areas of higher amounts obviously. This is a intense banding event and no model is going to pinpoint placement of those bands.

The 6z gfs..the icon and the nogaps crushes nyc,along with king euro and nam. Building confidence in a nyc lucky strike. 6+ across the whole area.

We Finally got one.!!.. Every model in agreement pretty much. NYC gets lambasted with heavy wet snow.

We are in a great spot for this one. Northern bronx,southern westchester county folk.

I think it snows to beat the band. Also reguardless of the recent milder temps,it was pretty cold before that. Heavy precip and evap cooling take care of the rest when it comes to snow actually accumulating.

For what its worth..the nam and gfs clip the city good,the nogaps has it suppressed. Euro,the ukie and canadian go north. None of the models can guess the amount of suppression and colder air involved it seems. Nws seems to be going towards the globals though,but its still not set in stone.

38/35f here..my dp is ticking down slowly. The radar to our west looks good and the ccb is our curious feature later. I think we do get some snow outta this though,sticking is a whole diff issue obviously.
