    The Weather Channel just showed up a map showing 75-90 mph wind gusts for Atlanta tomorrow morning.

    I am halfway between Tallahassee and Atlanta. Will winds still be bad on the west side here ? I'm due south of Atlanta and due north of Tallahassee.

    Is that normal for the NHC to be off by 50 miles ?

    No its clearly shifted west. They did have it going just east of Atlanta and now it looks like it's going over Atlanta.

    Eastern GA is close to 200 miles east of the center assuming the NHC is correct.

    Tulsa had a high of 40 on October 29 last year. And you say it’s miserably hot even in November ?

    I associate the Dog Days with the hottest month of the year, which would be July.

    We are over halfway through with the Dog Days which run from July 3 to August 11.

    March is looking very chilly across much of the south according to the CPC.

    6 years seems like a long time without snow. Is that normal for your area ?

    I have never in my life seen ice in Georgia after Valentine's Day.

    I am in Georgia. In Atlanta, for instance, average highs are in the mid 60s the second week of March so I guess mid 50s would be considered solidly BN. Hopefully we can have temps 30-40 BN so we can get some snow.

    So lets say it makes landfall at 130 mph and is in Valdosta 3 hours later. Could that mean Valdosta could potentially see 100 mph sustained winds ?

    Is it just me or are some of the models starting to show it a bit further west ?

    I've been in Georgia for the past month and it's been nonstop heat and humidity. It's taking a toll on me.

    Awesome summer ? I see nothing but Heat Advisories and Excessive Heat Warnings across much of the Southern US. It's been a summer to remember for sure.
