The little wave which moved thru Central IL today significantly overachieved, local Met called for up to an inch today, I am sitting at 3.3” imby That’ll hold me over for a bit while we head into the 40s with rain this weekend into next week

Got a real nice snow squall getting ready to move in, unfortunately sun is out currently and temps are warmer than expected so accums will be held to a minimum, fun either way though

This early season cold with nothing to show for it has me wanting to throw in the towel already Patience is key, but this is giving me flashbacks to the last two winters (which have been terrible here), It also doesn't help that I was spoiled seeing more snow in person than I ever have before in my life driving back from Northern Michigan Sunday LOL

I figured that was a part of the problem, I may have to drive south a few miles tomorrow and see if I can check some of it out to experience it for a bit, thanks for the response I will say, the drive down US-131 on the way back will be interesting though lol

Ive been wondering about this for the past day or so and am curious if anyone in Northern Michigan or who knows the area could help me figure this out. I am currently on a little vacation for Thanksgiving in Harbor Springs, Michigan (got here Wed and leaving Sun morning). I was excited for lake effect snow as I am from Central IL and have never experienced it before but we have almost completely missed out on the main LES band by just 5-10 miles and have struggled to get more than a half inch or so. My main question is if this is typical for this specific location, or just bad luck this time? And also wondered if the bands could shift at all between now and Sat Night. Thanks

Man it’s gonna be brutal getting all of this cold air into the Central/Eastern US just to have zero snow to show for it (at least where I live), what’s new

I’ve officially got my first snowflakes of the season in Bloomington, IL! Still mostly a drizzle/rain though

Sitting at 32.9 here at the moment, temp got above freezing around 1:30pm and never went back down, luckily avoided what looked like could have been a relatively significant icing event

Temps seem to be rising quicker than expected here in Central IL, sitting at 31.2 IMBY, hopefully that’ll help keep ice totals down during the day

A few very small flurries starting here now, hopefully we can get a couple inches of snow tonight

Is it just me or are these recent model runs trending north? Was hoping to actually see the ground covered for once here before the warmth returns next week

46 degrees and heavy rain currently IMBY. And by the time the cold air gets around moisture will be gone, this one’s gonna sting for a while

LOT just put up warnings for counties along/north of I-80, advisories for the rest

My heart isn’t gonna be able to take it if we have another all rainer event with a little backside snow here in Central IL, especially with all that cold air behind it Luckily still have some time to go, will be fun to watch

I just went through a little bit of a lull in the rain, temp went from 34.3 to 35.2 in about 20 minutes lol, luckily i wasn’t expecting a whole lot tonight anyways

I’m nervous as well (although being 90 miles south of Chicago I knew I wasn’t gonna get much) but it’s looking like I really might struggle to get even a couple inches now

Just got thundersnow here in GC First time i’ve experienced it, snow is ripping now

Perhaps I spoke too soon, despite temp being 38.3 I have snow mixing in
