  1. Yea, not sure how or why there is no cold air in sight now I thought that was the big thing lol
  2. You guys are killing me I am trying to finish a huge paper on the Purdue Pharma and their creation of the Opioid Crisis but I keep coming back here lol
  3. Was that the year that cities like Jackson, MS, Birmingham, AL and places south of Atlanta got more snow that the TN Valley in general?
  4. Trying to remember what Carver said and not to look at the GFS but man, can it sure change from run to run. Just wonder why what ever government entity is responsible for that model cannot see that changes need to be made. That thing is an embarrassment
  5. Not sure i have seen such prolonged period of cold as depicted by the cfs noon run, not sure how good it is
  6. Seems like with a lot of the modelling, one commonality is the rainfall; just really need the cold to win this battle sooner rather than later, without any of that moisture in the form of ice!
  7. Hopefully if this is the case, with very cold air, we will fair as good as last time. Do not want a scenario where we get ice or a lot of snow followed by ten days or so of very cold. At least the last shot was comparatively short lived.
  8. Yea, got to give props to the GFS for being able to provide a different solution each run lol
  9. Oh wow, yea, we all love the tracking side of things but every now and again things can get nasty even in the winter
  10. Man you are lucky, worst one I have been in is Feb 1994 out of power for a week, many places had to have the electric poles reset because they snapped. That was the same type set up though a stalled boundary and we were just far enough north of the boundary to be in the cold but not deep enough for snow https://www.tennessean.com/picture-gallery/news/local/2015/02/16/nashville-then-ice-storm-of-1994/23505561/
  11. Exactly, it will likely change - we likely all have memories of horrible experiences with ice storms!
  12. That would be a hard pass for me, do not want any part of an ice storm
  13. That was what I was just saying! WTF the taxpayers are paying for this model?
  14. Yea, looks like this run of the models was a little more hopeful, course I dont go near as in depth as you guys, appreciate all the good information
  15. Nice maps and I do agree, we have had snow the past two seasons and this one as well. I was speaking in reference to the chatter, not only in here but other boards that indicate that it is eventually going to be more seasonal again, only to arrive at that future time to find out that some indice' didnt pan out so that was the reason why we had six weeks of warmth. I know if we dont have a pattern change my area is going to have issues with any more rain.
  16. Yea, eventually we will actually have year that we have winter not looking like this year either
  17. This year honestly is looking allot like the last few with the exception of the three days around christmas, very warm and wet
  18. Things like nandina's will lose their leaves, mine looked brown and have started to drop; the english iv is now a very dark purple; the southern magnolia leaves are splotchy, so hopefully we can stay away from the real cold the rest of the year
  19. I dont know about anyone else but I think you should do a forum poll before you change your profile picture again. I am used to looking for the bright orange, taking some getting used to for the new one.
  20. Ours is the water line outside. Was created by the power company bringing their equipment in the yard to grind the stumps of the trees they insisted should be cut. Trees not even close to water line but driving backhoe equipment over the area. I could fight about it with them but easier to fix it
