  1. First flakes of the year in N. Bethesda!
  2. I would be quite happy with seeing first flakes of the year. Seems like that's still a possibility.
  3. DT, thanks for the write up and nice to see you back.
  4. Yeah, it seems pretty clear they are planning to move Jensen at the point.
  5. Schultz's numbers are actually pretty decent when he wasn't paired with Johnson, who was horrible. He actually played pretty well when paired with Petterson , and I think he'll fit well next to Orlov. That said, I would have thought he would have been cheaper. I believe the caps still have 3M in cap space because Kempney is going to be on LTIR. Figure Siegs gets 1.2 or so, and hopefully they'll use the rest to add some scoring punch to the bottom 6.
  6. I thought RG3 was all about the run-pass option and getting hurt?
  7. Dropped down to 39 here. That ought to at least slow the mosquitos down...
  8. We're up to 2 inches here, with occasional thunder. I can't remember the last time it rained this hard for so long.
  9. The core of the radar-indicated winds passed over us, but I don't think we gusted much above 30-40 mph here. Torrential rain (10+ in/hr) and lots of lightning were the big story here.
  10. Thanks for stopping in to share your thoughts. The terrain is manageable. The traffic is the big challenge around here.
  11. I like GMBM. Much more decisive than McPhee. Said the Caps need an experienced coach. Hopefully they're looking at Laviolette or Gallant.
  12. I have a hard time finding Thai chilies, and am not a huge fan of big heat, so I usually just use a couple jalapenos or serranos. The end result is very little heat. You could easily omit the chilies all together if you prefer.
  13. If y'all like curry, take a look at this recipe: https://www.tablespoon.com/recipes/thai-green-curry-with-chicken-and-vegetables/00d62b36-5189-479d-807e-39ba8ec90508 One of my favorites to make in the summer when I can find the fresh veggies at the farmers' market.
  14. Cool shots! Looks like a shelf cloud with some scud clouds underneath. This is definitely the right place to share those types of pics.
  15. Only when its east of the NY metro area...
  16. We were in North OC (136th) for the last 2 weeks. We usually stay in one of the high-rises around 100th, but were not comfortable being around so many people. We found a condo with only one other unit in the building (occupied by the owners) and a private beach access. We spent the first 3 hours basically nuking it. I was pleasantly surprised how well folks were social distancing on the beach. Instead of everyone setting up in a couple rows within 15 meters of the water, folks were using the entire beach. We got carryout from several restaurants that had their act together, but I definitely saw some that didn't. We thought about getting carry out from Tequila Mockingbird, but you had to go into their packed bar to pick it up. Forget about that! There were also a few covidiots at the grocery store who couldn't figure out how to wear a mask properly or how to socially distance. We stayed away from the boardwalk, but when I looked at the webcams, it seemed much less crowded than usual.
  17. It's been a stiff breeze in OC today. Kept the beaches nice and non-crowded. I'm glad we'll be here for the heat this weekend.
  18. It's funny how complicated the barber relationship can get. Thinking of the great Seinfeld episode on that. Twitter has its place, but so does this place. The volume of posts on Twitter can get overwhelming, and its easy for the quality to get lost in the noise. Plus, as you note, it's hard to compartmentalize topics. So, when I just want to find out what's going on with the weather, I have to wade through a lot of unrelated material. I keep it manageable by only following ~40 people. I don't know how people like you manage following thousands of people.
  19. Welcome back! With a beach trip upcoming, I finally broke down and cut my own hair last week. Let's just say I'm not going to put my barber out of a job, but it looks and feels a lot better than it did.
