  1. wow the 18z GFS just put us in the freezer for the foreseeable future.. looks like 76-77 type of pattern. Snow almost to the gulf coast.
  2. There will never be another Jan 96. Every KU storm is distinct in its own way. I mean, was that storm similar to any other previous storm?
  3. It's things like this that make long range/seasonal forecasting so interesting. There's always something that defies what we thought we expected. How a simple anomaly can force a butterfly effect on the entire long range forecast.

  8. The 360 hr Euro doesn't disappoint! That's an active STJ with arctic air diving south.
  9. With nearly 20 years of GFS (AVN/MRF) running out to 384 hrs, the Euro is finally ready to pull the trigger. This will be fun to watch.
  10. Euro finally kicks it east like the GFS.. finally going to a cold(er) pattern late Nov. I'm ready!
  11. boy i feel bad for the younger generations.. but I can remember Dec 2000 and March 2001 and empathize a little. Winter in the south is a bitch.

  15. Winter cancel Worst since 1990. Not even close to a snow event. Didn't break that streak until the Superstorm arrived in '93.
  16. Been a wild weather adventure since Thursday. Drove up to the cabin in torrential rain and thunder/lightning, now soon leaving 2-3" of snow with snow showers continuing.
  17. I'm up in the Whittier area in a cabin on a little anniversary vacation. Been coming down the past couple hours. Probably 1" or so. Finally timed it just right after 6 years!
  18. I'm all in!! Going to be in the mtns in a cabin for wedding anniversary! Let's get snowed in!
