NAM still likes Mon night for a minor event.

That would be blizzard conditions for a time along much of the coast all the way from Norfolk to Portland. Close to 50 kt winds with higher gusts in many coastal areas. Massive outages.

CFS vs the weeklies. I'm going with the former.

Really?! Earlier this month we went through almost a week without seeing the sun for more than an hour or so. We didn't see any of that white stuff falling from the clouds. Outside of one storm that porked some, most of SNE is in a snow drought or whatever one wants to call it.

Looks like that 12z GFS BECS is going to quietly head out to Bermuda a day earlier...

The 26th will be a perfectly normal cold and dry day in January.

Given the predictive quality of the weeklies and the less than stellar performance of the deterministic models (yeah, they didn't give me enough snow) to date, I'm going with a colder than normal February, but in keeping with the trend of this winter, a fairly quiet month. Not a great one for us weenies here.

Let's see if future GFS runs pick up on what the Euro is selling. The next run could be a real hoot after that 12z run.

We can keep changing the title of this thread and keep pushing it out in time, maybe that will work. Meanwhile, in the longer term, we can watch as the GFS sends system after system to swim with the fishes. -
If you call an additional .05 qpf in my hood beefed up, lol. But the South Coast and LI did do better than that.
