    Thanks to that nice bust before Christmas with 6.75" here, and 8" on the season, I'm not complaining. But this could be the first season in a long time with more snow in Dec. than Jan. here.

    All models just before New Years told us to expect cold and dry for the next two weeks. That may yet be proven right.

    Exactly. The GFS op has been on the western side of the envelope since the beginning. I'm betting that it won't be when we see the new GEFS.

    Yeah, those 3 way out there are skewing the mean east.

    Can't see to the right of that low, but to be in that position for the mean there would have to be quite a few members way ots.

    You can see the tug to the nw of those members from 12z to 18z on the Euro.

    One would think that we would be getting some recon sampling that Pac area given the great uncertainty of a potential blockbuster, but nothing is scheduled.

    That cluster on the NC coast is where the ICON has it at that hr.

    At least the trends have been better today thus far.

    Big improvement on the ICON at h5 from 12z. If the run went past 120 hrs, the next couple of panels would have had it moving toward the benchmark.

    Euro, GFS, and CMC, including their ensembles all have the system near or east of the mid-Atlantic region, so it won't take too much more positive change to bring them further north. The UK still wants to go to Bermuda, so that one will need a massive change in its modeling to become favorable for us.

    Maybe this is the winter of busts. We had our own nice bust here just before Christmas.
