  1. From the BUF AFD: "In its attempt, the region will become oriented under the northern portions of the upper level ridge and have more of a zonal orientation." Could be a nice setup for some NW-to-SE MCS action which can traditionally produce some very intense storms (as we've already seen this season).
  2. We're just east of the bullseye of 3+" of rain. I don't have a measure, but we probably picked up half that over double the time - and it soaked it very quickly. The topsoil here is quite thin with a lot of clay underneath so maybe that plays a roll.
  3. Looks like that troughiness is moving east and eventually bring us below normal at some point.
  4. Our ground here is still bone dry, so I'm all for a couple more inches of rain over the next couple of days. This type of environment should be conducive to that.
  5. New study starting to properly test the impact of inhaled steroids as C19 treatments. Really interesting and promising. https://www.news-medical.net/news/20200707/Asthma-inhalers-being-trialed-for-treatment-of-COVID-19.aspx
  6. Had a quick surprise storm here a little while ago. Pretty cool.
  7. Just to my west. We probably got .5 on that last round. Would like more now that the ground is wet.
  8. Seems to be such a slow process! Move east already! Looks like it's diving SE.
  9. Yep, WU sites already showing mid-90s all around the airport right now.
  10. I think you do because of the down-sloping flow from the SSE.
  11. More cumulus developing earlier and moving NNW today, pushing out over the lake in this new flow. Hopeful for some rain today - also hoping those cirrus don't interfere with the destabilization.
  12. Yes, 1 degree warmer than 24 hr ago and 3 warmer in Roc. Winds now being influenced by the TS. Wondering if the TS will influence subsidence over WNY and slow down the front.
  13. Really hoping it moves more West than progged. Latest sat frames show a NW shift.
  14. Would be nice to get some of that TS moisture this far west to douce our burning grass.
  15. Isn't it mostly attributed to wind direction?
  16. Ah, finally some enthusiasm about summer. LOL
  17. Same here, although I've watered mine some to keep it healthy. Keeping it longer allows more dew to form on the blades and drip to the ground.
  18. Yeah, that's what I was thinking when I read it!! Service those air conditioners. Don't want them to crap out anytime over the next 2 weeks.
  19. From the BUF AFD: Consecutive 90+ Degree Days in Buffalo (Ending Date) 1) 7/10/1988 - 7 2) 7/1/1963 - 5 3) 8/14/1947 - 5 4) 7/6/2020 (ongoing) - 4
  20. Interested stats. Also it seems that ROC will finally get into the heat as winds are now shifted and DPs are already 5 degrees higher than this time yesterday.
  21. That's likely part of it. Hoping the weaker mutation is real like that Italian virologist suggested.
