This area of snow will move
into western New York early this evening. Snowfall rates will
quickly increase to 1-2 inches per hour once the snow begins.
These snowfall rates will likely last only a short period of
perhaps 3-6 hours for most places, but should hold on longer in
the Buffalo to Rochester corridor where a northeast flow will
bring lake enhancement, so we could be looking at these higher
snowfall rates for a longer duration likely from 10 pm tonight
through 7 am Tuesday morning. This area will likely receive the
highest snowfall totals of a foot or more, with most of snow
falling tonight and early Tuesday morning.
