Almost 80 here by the lake with a stiff SE wind fighting back that lake breeze. It mostly succeeded and temps stayed in the upper 70s with low 50s DP. Perfect.
For your wife as well? Does she typically get sinus infections? Have you taken antibiotics? You typically don't get chest congestion with sinusitis - so I'd get tested for the flu or even bronchitis. If mucus is yellow or green, then very likely a bacterial infection (bronchitis and/or sinusitis) - potentially as a result of a previous viral infection (flu or RSV).
Everyone should be expecting a bump in cases as things loosen up a bit. My guess is that this will be a temporary blip. Nice weather will be here along with herd immunity. The vaccines are doing OK against the tougher variants so hoping they won't be an issue. Wouldn't be surprised to see a booster in 6 months for variants, though.
Especially right now with a national mental health crisis on our hands. Substance abuse is only rising during this time. Likely passed for tax revenue.
There seems to be a lot of anafrontal-type waves this season that models appear to struggle with the specifics. Wondering if this season's long-wave pattern/teleconnections are situated uniquely this year.
