  1. Great, false alarm. Relatives backed out. Back to yard work instead.
  2. This Saturday folks...yesss. Likely I tee it up for the first time this season. Just need to ensure the wife is in fact going to visit relatives WITH the kids....and it’s on.
  3. I’m big in cutting in certain form and not allowing the contours of your property to dictate your line(s). A mowing pet peeve.
  4. I have yet to get out. Mostly terrible weather and when the clouds break for a few hours, I’ve been attacking my landscape project. Maybe Memorial day weekend....
  5. Yea, this is certainly the year to seed in the ‘spring’ seeing as there are no signs of summer. Should be enough rain and cooler temps to get it going.
  6. Fungus is never symmetrical nor does it make sense like why it hits a certain area. Fall is the best time to seed although with how cool and rainy next the 30 days look, you could lay down a thin layer of top soil and seed it. I would just prefer to see how that area is during the growing season, understand why it’s behaving like it is....then address it. Kinda like being your own lawn doctor.
  7. Looks like that area is prone to fungus diseases, hard to tell. Regardless, I wouldn’t touch that too much this growing season Mike but instead, attack it vigilantly and properly in the fall.
  8. 10 days to go will be tough. Days like today and this weekend don’t help. So much moisture in the soil. Need a week of sunny 70s with a nice breeze.
  9. Highly recommend. Simple landscaping look ftw.
  10. So why the hate for such beautiful evergreens?
  11. After two subpar experiences with local nurseries, this site was recommended. Have a few items on order, we’ll see when it arrives...but so far so good. https://www.evergreenplantnursery.com/default.asp
  12. I put down two layers of weed barrier but yes the occassional weed/grass sprout happens especially last summer season. I never use harsh spray chemicals to kill. Only boiling water/vinegar mixture if it gets too bad.
  13. Yea. I’ll have to show a before and after pic when I’m finished but it looks awesome so far. I planted a couple abroviteas on the back walkway with the sand colored stones and people always comment how nice it looks. Even my neighbor is going stone this year after years of muscling mulch around.
  14. Preference, sure. I have too much area to have to scrape off old and lay down new mulch every season. Working on the front now with tree planting next week.
  15. I just mulch around decorative trees and plants to retain moisture but rocks are much more efficient and last way longer. Smarter choice and looks better too.
  16. Chomping at the bit for the courses and dry out a bit to get out for 18 soon.
  17. Rocks >> mulch. My landscape project is coming along and the rocks give a classier look over mulch. Plus much less labor over time compared to mulch.
  18. Nice work SP. Mine is a multi year project. With shit soil and previous owner neglecting lawn care. It will be a few seasons before I can feel good about it.
  19. Look at you kid. Went from ashy to classy in a blink of an eye. Congrats.
