  1. We have not hit 90F IMBY yet per my weather system. I checked Flint (nearest major airport) and they have hit 89 four times but no 90s My area is usually a couple degrees cooler than Flint so my weather station looks to be doing it's job correctly
  2. You know it's bad when non-weather people are commenting about the lack of Thunderstorms.
  3. Well looks like the smoke had no impact on yesterday Loads of fun in SE MI to Northern OH! Sad it is all over for the next 10+ days
  4. How many strike did you record yesterday?
  5. Sun starting to poke out here. It was nice to have a little fun! Sad to think that is for precip for at least the next 10 days
  6. You look to do well. I got brushed by it which is better than nothing. Ended up chasing it some but never saw any great streaks just mainly flashes of lightning and heavy rain. Rush hour chasing is the worst for chasing though so came back home. My daughter was out in Brighton so hopefully hear how good it was there later.
  7. Sadly the cell east of Lansing broke apart
  8. It is interesting is how many storms will be move WNW to Howell and may a right turn toward Brighton. This storm did exactly that. I admit I feel for the WNW track but when you are in a drought you have high hopes the normal trends don't happen
  9. AA is looking good. Hopefully you do better than me
  10. Missing me by 5 miles to the south. My only hope is the cell out east of Lansing.
  11. I hear thunder for the past 10 minutes please hold and grow
  12. And you are going to get more. Amazing what ~hundred miles does !!!
  13. I'm good as have excellent insurance!!
  14. Storms by me had lots cloud lightning. Saw a few streaks but nothing that hit the ground. Lots of rumbles.
  15. I wouldn't mind if Thunderstorm were on tap with the heat!! Just unrelenting blistering heat, then I agree, no thanks.
  16. Model say the fun is done with the drought resuming tomorrow.
  17. It is nice to see something other than smoke Just had another cell develop on us. My daughter said "Hey dad the clouds are HAILING us"
  18. "rocking the typical 65/53 temp/dewpoint you would expect for June thunder" ==> We had a cell developing right on top of us. I started to hear thunder and I was wondering what the neighbor was doing!! Looked outside and it briefly poured out(<0.1") and of course the cell got bigger as it went east. Saw a few flashes and hear lots of cloud thunder rumbling. Most weather excitement since April!
  19. Northerly flow with due points in the 20s/30s/40s in May and June with and Omega blocking high over the Great Lakes region is the main reason. Plenty of smoke last weekend as storms popped up with dew points finally more summer like at that time. The influence is small if really any at all.
  20. Agree. We have had a lot of summers with much above overnight lows. Having the low due points has allowed for much cooler overnight/morning lows for us the past couple summers. Plus being so dry with loads of sun, our day time temps easily recover.
  21. Michigan abolished the fireworks ban a few years ago. The only difference before/after has basically been where you buy your fireworks.
  22. Just moving in here now. Just in time for the sunset and moon rise. Looks like we might repeat it again tomorrow.
  23. Definitely a cool effect from the smoke. Though I am glad it is gone here today as I prefer a pure blue sky.
