  1. You are a rain magnet like Josh's snow magnet
  2. I am very interested how this will work out. Must say I am always a bit nervous when DTX puts some of the heaviest totals IMBY. Hoping this evening/tonight will be the biggest event since the March snowstorm for MBY.
  3. I feel yah. Seems like the rich keep getting richer in this pattern. Hopefully todays system breaks that trend for us poor folks
  4. Here is one of the fun thunderheads this evening all around our area.
  5. I think Lima will get something in the next few days too! You had something go through AA today of course!
  6. I have been doing some landscaping. Once I get down about 4-5" it is pretty dry.
  7. Tomorrow afternoon and evening looks interesting but I am just not bitting on it yet. Yes I agree it has been another summer of no nocturnals. Still have a good 2-3 months. March was my best snow month. Come on September 1986!!
  8. I got nicked by that cell. Hoping the next one gets here too. I have pretty much been in the same camp as you. Kinda feels like this lately:
  9. Just had one of the cells go through here. Quick heavy rain and some winds (nothing that strong here). I wasn't expecting the stronger ones to be up there either.
  10. Not trying to belittle or make light the events in Vermont. But I would love to get widespread 4-8" rain totals like that.
  11. I still don't get why they insist on calling it 'normal'. It is an average (as you said). If each day did exact what that chart showed it would be the most abnormal weather ever for the Midwest/Great Lakes.
  12. That is good to hear about the beneficial rains. We got nada yesterday and last night. From my understanding we didn't get much IMBY (I wasn't here) the past 5 days as the heavier rains went around. My rain gauge sadly agrees. Glad I missed a miss.
  13. The past 10 days you have had a lot more than MBY. Chicago has had some good events now in the past week or so but so has several area's in lower MI. I like that it is active as I know for MBY will get missed at times and hammered during others. Normally the hammering happens which I am out of town . This time it didn't for change as I was out of town the past 5 days. Hopefully one of these events soon set's up just right.
  14. Been a long time since I have seen a major bust in the right direction like Chi Town got today. The past 2 days everything has found a way to miss. I should sell myself a a weather curse to towns that don't want bad weather . I could be an instant millionaire
  15. Don't want to hear you complaining
  16. Blue sky. AQI under 100. Praise the Lord!!!
  17. Finally some real summer weather. I love it!!
  18. Okay. Not surprised as they were thunderstorms. 2021 we had an overnight event with heavy rains and Lansing to MBY was ground zero. MBY got 5"+ amounts as it poured for hours. https://www.weather.gov/grr/summary20210809_12 You did have the 2018 August event (3 day totals over 6" in GRR): https://www.weather.gov/grr/summary20180828 I remember that 2013 event quite well.
  19. I think we will see things 'reset' some mid-July. Hopefully when the heat dome re-establishes itself it is a bit stronger for the Great Lakes area to get in the ring of fire. Just don't want it too strong and blast it far north!!
  20. I don't mind missing the 80MPH+ storm the got to the south at all. Especially just before the Holiday weekend. The storms around Big Rapids last evening are exactly what I love. Heavy rains, small hail and lots of lightning. My house and neighbors can get 5" of rain without flooding concerns for the most part. Yeah agreed as thunderstorm season is June-Sept for MBY. Other months are extremely hit or miss and I call them bonus months (have had great Days before but most Mays are not great for storms). Yesterday evening storms acted more like May storms: decaying as they crossed the state. July and August are my key months and we are looking much better than we did a few weeks ago.
  21. This evening line of storms => Dr. Evil "How about no!!"
  22. It's annoying as you should be able see some great lightning. This morning with 1 mile smoke visibility I only saw a few flashes.
  23. Not sure what they're going to do. Some models don't even show these storms while other models don't have consistency. Hopefully they make it here but not going to hold my breath.
