  1. Models final hint at something more than dry and warm. Wouldn't surprise me to get a week or so of action to go right back to a dry and mild pattern. Of course it would surprise me if something else happens
  2. Wow. Just drove the other day to Virginia Tech. Drought conditions just starting the past couple weeks IMBY. From Columbus OH to Blacksburg VA, the drought is crazy severe. Especially southern OH and West Virginia where trees are so stressed they are changing colors already with several trees dropping leaves.
  3. Well the good part of this pattern is I don't need to cut the lawn anytime soon.
  4. 4 rounds of thunderstorms in less than 36 hours. Love it
  5. Most people today lives their lives in A/C. 1988 I didn't have A/C and survived. 1988 I was in high school and my high school didn't have A/C. They never canceled classes and everyone survived there too. In fact I don't recall anyone even thinking twice about it. A/C is part of the problem and has created a ton of pansies!!!
  6. I skipped one year and I agree!!! Doing it yearly works best. I normally have it done already but I was away over 7 weeks this summer. I need to get that planned!!
  7. Now that we use Excess Heat Warnings commonly for heat waves. Maybe we should add another warning: Incineration Warning for temps above 100.
  8. My family members in Waseca/Mankato areas don't mind the break.
  9. It sure has been a good while. Enough improvement not to be a bust but still a significantly less than SW MI got.
  10. The HRRR and some HiRez models had it blasting through pretty strong but yes several models did have it dying quicker. I noticed there was a battle with what would happen in SE MI.
  11. Sound much better much better than remnants I am getting
  12. I was hoping this would be one that was going to just plow across Lower Michigan this morning but rather a solid MCS for SW MI and a decaying MCS for SE MI.
  13. Awesome. Sounds like a fun storm. Not looking good on radar for me you can see it splitting apart east of Lansing!!. Oh well nothing I can do to change it How was the lightning with it??
  14. Already splitting at least AA usually does OK with these big complexes.
  15. Hopefully it remains strong and active. It has been pretty boring as things have pretty much found a way to go around MBY since mid-May. At least mowing has been reduced with mostly brown grass and only weeds are growing. I am sure it will change soon as I have a lot business travel to do; it will likely turn into a great pattern.
  16. Drought raging IMBY. Not surprised as this is a terrible pattern for my area.
  17. Just wow, this used to be just called summer. Now it's headline news
  18. I left work (intentionally) to go through one of those. It was some awesome heavy rains. Definitely some good winds too. Police had to block a road on my way home making it a totally dirt road adventure
  19. Winds and heavy rain were the best part in Allegan; lightning was so so. edit. Looks strong at GRR.
  20. Storm was nice today here in Allegan. Nothing grand but much better than nothing
  21. Great to hear. We really killed it here with a complete 0.1" downpour. Next system looks a bit better but honestly I like the small systems for my area as these bigger ones tend to split particularly for MBY. Might head out to west side of the state tomorrow afternoon, as I think it will do better.
  22. How was the storm this morning in your area? Unfortunately they are dying out as they approach here (not surprised).
