  1. About 8.5 inches here in asheville with 15 inch drifts. That's after compaction also.
  2. Drifts up to a foot in places here now. Whiteout conditions. I'm stunned.
  3. Up to at least 7 inches here in Asheville. NAM completely busted for my area.
  4. Here you go -> http://coolwx.com/cgi-bin/getanalysis.cgi?region=NC&time=current&field=bulb
  5. Wetbulb's don't look too bad, can see the CAD working in.
  6. Lord have mercy! Catastrophic damage coming if this verifies.
  7. I already cracked open a beer. It's 6pm somewhere in the world.
  8. Balmy 40 degrees and here in Asheville already. Still think at least 2-4" of snow for me ... hopefully lol
  9. 0z national blend of models now has under 6 inches of Snow for asheville. Should have managed my expectations better. Expecting 3-6 inches with 1.5 of sleet/freezing rain.
  10. It's beyond me how anyone can be upset with this great pattern after 60's and 70's and dry december.
  11. 12z Euro ensembles bumped snow totals in around the Asheville and Boone vicinity.
  12. That's good! Does that mean this could be more snow than 2010?
  13. This was one of the top CIPS analogs for this system: https://projects.ncsu.edu/atmos_collaboration/nwsfo/storage/cases/20100129/
  14. The surface isn't the real issue, it's the mid levels. The NAM even torches Asheville. Asheville might get rain included with the winter weather if the NAM verfies.
  15. I have family in Charlotte getting fuel for their generator just in case. Doesn't hurt to be prepared.
  16. That's the model I would rely on at this point. It actually increased totals with the weak low and stronger high. NAM is a meso model and amps things up like crazy all the time. Think it's time for it to go the way of the DGEX at this point. Maybe some machine learning model to replace it.
  17. This would put many locations in category 3 or 4 or possibly 5 http://www.usawx.com/icesto3.jpg
  18. Let's just be grateful that many are getting winter precip they havent gotten in many years. Let's turn negative vibes into positive ones!
