  1. The 12z GFS says, “Not so fast, my southeast friends. But you folks in Payson, Arizona? Well, here’s three feet of snow for you.”
  2. Low of 26.8 this morning and 0.07” of rain. (The rain arrived after it warmed up above freezing as usual.) Wind gusted up to 24.3 mph yesterday.
  3. It’s way too early to start a thread, but if and when that time comes, let it be someone with some mojo.
  4. Got down to 27 last night. Pretty nice day today if it’s not going to snow. 54 and sunny.
  5. Things can change on a dime around here. I’m trying to remain optimistic for a little something to come together before the end of January.
  6. Light snow showers currently ten miles north of GSO. No accumulation. 40.6/30.2
  7. 45 with 0.13” of rain so far today. Drab and dreary day.
  8. We have three main seasons: severe, heat, and hurricane. This fourth minor season is just for fantasy dustings.
  9. 32.5 and still have some very light snow coming down. Ended up with right under 2”. It was almost all snow from start to finish save a couple of brief sleet and mixing moments. There was a lot of melting early on that hurt totals. I have no right to complain given how this storm played out overall.
  10. 32.4 degrees with moderate snow (big flakes) 1.5” accumulation so far. I don’t expect much more.
  11. I’ve officially hit just a tad over the 1” mark of accumulation.
  12. 32.2 degrees It’s embarrassing that I’m excited about this amount of snow. It’s been that long though.
  13. Maybe I can get another half an hour or so out of this.
  14. It’s not much, but it’s honest work.
  15. My in-laws live near there. I just texted them and they’re annoyed that they’ve not seen a flake while I’ve got half an inch now. They insist that there’s an anti-precip force field around PTI. 32.4
  16. 32.5 and still coming down hard. Rooftops are white. HRRR still insists that I can get an inch before 8:00 PM. Maybe.
  17. 32.9 degrees and heavy snow for the past hour. A lot of melting, but enough for a dusting on the grass.
  18. Hey, I’m down to 35.6 with light snow.
  19. I, too, had that sinking feeling when I woke up to unexpectedly warm temps. Here’s my station reading. I was fairly optimistic when I went to bed after midnight, but you can see what happened.
  20. RAH has reduced my afternoon snow forecast from 1”-3” to just 1”. Tonight is 0.5”. On to February...
  21. I wasn’t expecting much before noon, but even if we manage a sloppy inch late this afternoon or early evening, this has been a bust.
  22. I’ll repeat this again. Our best shot is this afternoon and evening. I’m holding out hope for a light dusting on top of the garbage can.
