  1. I noticed that too. Even working in the woodlots I’ve barely had to use bug spray when taking care of trees. Thick plume this morning. The company I work for has been in fire precaution mode starting Monday. Coniferous forest are really bad especially
  2. Really thick plume moving through SE Michigan this morning
  3. Reports of smoke smell in St Claire, Macomb, and Oakland counties. Fires in Quebec and one in particular in Ontario NW of Manitoulin island have expanded quite a bit. Curious to see the GOES satellite images tomorrow morning
  4. Unless your like the Soviets draining the Aral Sea. Glad to live by water and also glad the border states and Canadian provinces agree to keep it within those regions. As much as I love Cali and the west it’s getting too populated
  5. Great Lakes region will be the new Florida
  6. When the pattern finally flips hopefully in the next few weeks. We would have to worry about flash flooding from the dry cracked ground
  7. Pretty cool to see with polarized sunglasses too
  8. Don’t worry we have a thin batch moving in. Already see some overhead
  9. After the back door front came through it’s nice to have it in the 60s still. Last few days it was in the 80s at this time. Noticed the next batch of smoke coming in from the NE on the GOES satellite. Air quality looks rough along Lake Michigan looks like some indications of surface based smoke if anyone from over that way can confirm
  10. Air quality starting to go downhill in Michigan from north to south. Looking like it’s slowly creeping into the lower half of the peninsula
  11. I can see to my north and it looks really thick over there
  12. I brought the Florida sunshine home to Michigan with me
  13. Time to head to Lake Michigan to fill up 55gal drums if that’s the case
  14. Hopefully this back door cool front will fire off some storms in SE Michigan tomorrow. Low chance but any will help
  15. The constant dry and completely sunny conditions day after day here with the low humidity is concerning in the long run. Hoping for a pattern flip in a couple weeks. Was in another wood lot today in Monroe county and it was all dry and ground cracking in spots with sun. Some of the smaller brush species are drying up considerably. Few more weeks of this and we could have some problems. Hopefully DNR did a good job with their prescribed fires this year. Areas of forest is the north is another concern as well. A couple MCS or MCV to roll through would be beneficial but only time will tell. The more consistent heat waves coming in from Canada is another’s interesting note I’ll have to find the article I read up on it. Used to the humid air from the south
  16. Great radar capture of the outflow/breezes colliding quite impressive to say the least
  17. This keeps up moderate drought will rapidly makes its way into IN, OH, and MI. Was NW of Howell yesterday and was in a white pine/Norway spruce patch of woods and that whole area is dry like a tinderbox. I’m concerned with increasing wildfire danger in the next few weeks in the lower half of Michigan
  18. Lakes are rapidly warming aswell. Glad to see it
  19. Definitely feel the extra jump of 12 degrees in terms of the dew point. Sweating outside twice as much as yesterday already. If I didn’t know better I’d say it’s definitely got a mid summer feel
  20. the sheer amount of days in a row with sunny or mostly sunny conditions is definitely getting up there. Loving that tho but I know it’s really bad in the long run
  21. Did the lawn. Had family over. Grilled up the brats, dogs, and venison burgers with all the fixings. Loaded potato salad. Can’t ask for a better Memorial Day
  22. Beautiful view. Reminds me of when I went there i siesta key last year with my fiancé
