We had had many of these kinds of setups in the past where we had several inches. It's not hard at all to get accumulating snow.

I had snow on Christmas eve which turned into rain late at night. I wasnt expecting it to turn back to snow until late Christmas day for a few hours. I remember turning on TWC with Paul Kocin and he was mentioning how the storm off the coast is bombing faster than modeled and the rain will turn to wind driven snow for the NYC area and that's exactly what happened. My family was stunned when they went outside and they had to travel home.

Models lost it but this might be the period where storms vanish just before bringing them back. It's a slim chance though.

Gefs has been consistent in showing a cold coastal. Way different than the eps and euro.

We have seen a lot of these in 2013. We also had one in 2016 with dropped a few inches.
